Johnny Curtis

There are a lot of people who would say Johnny Curtis has a chip on his shoulder. In fact, he would be the first to say that yes, indeed, he does. And he dares you to knock it off.

Growing up as an orphan in South Boston, Johnny Curtis made a habit of getting into fights and constantly being ejected from boys’ homes for his attitude. While that mean streak could have landed the WWE NXT season four winner in a heap of trouble, Curtis instead focused his frustration and emotion, channeling it to become the fierce competitor he is today. Considered a “loose cannon” for his unpredictable attitude and intensity, Curtis prefers to utilize high-risk maneuvers, something made more dangerous by his impressive size.

A learned, intense student of WWE, Curtis owns more than 1,000 wrestling tapes and has studied each one of them, looking for ways to improve his game. This studious approach to mastering in-ring combat helped propel him to win NXT, trumping the likes of fellow season four alum Brodus Clay and Derrick Bateman.

No longer a pupil of NXT Pro R-Truth, Curtis found a home on SmackDown in 2011. Now on his own, the young upstart looks to leave his mark in WWE and, if his history is any indication, he’ll do it by any means necessary.
