Biography

TRAINING: I usually hit mitts or do my conditioning in the mornings. Martial arts training in the afternoon, and I try to get yoga in at night.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I have been drawn to combat sports my entire life. My parents had us in more traditional sports to steer us from boxing, etc. But I found myself in a Professional NHB fight at 22 years old. I was playing college football at the time. After my fight, I dropped out of school, gave up my scholarship and dedicated myself to a life of mixed martial arts.
What ranks and titles have you held? None. I developed my own system of martial arts which has no ranks or belts - American Whu-Hitu. The only title I strive for is that of UFC welterweight champion.
Do you have any heroes? My Father because of his faith and ability to persevere.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? I am proud to be in the UFC. It amounts to being at the top of my profession.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Associates degree in the field of General Education while attending Dixie State College in St. George UT. I gave further education up to pursue a professional mixed martial arts career.
What was your job before you started fighting? College athlete
specific accomplishments in amateur competition? All-American RB at Dixie State in my sophomore year of college. All-State in baseball, football, and wresting in HS
