Live on CBS! EliteXC: Primetime took over network TV to deliver fun fights like Gina Carano vs. Kaitlin Young, EliteXC middleweight champ Robbie Lawler vs. Scott Smith, and, headlining, America’s favorite Kimbo Slice vs. “The Colossus” James Thompson.
With the inaugural EliteXC welterweight championship on the line, two hot streak owning grapplers collided as Nick “The Goat” Thompson with 12 straight MMA wins took on the nine straight wins of Cesar Gracie Jiu Jitsu’s Jake Shields.
Making his first title defense, EliteXC lightweight champion KJ Noons and his pro boxing/kickboxing experienced striking took to the cage to square off with MMA veteran Yves Edwards with his 34–13–1 record and was coming off three straight stoppage wins.
In a battle between long & lean boxing stylists, Cesar Gracie Jiu Jitsu star Nick Diaz with his 16-7, 1NC overall record and 1-1 in EliteXC was set to face “The Technician” Muhsin Corbbrey with his 12-2, 1NC record and on a 3 fight win streak.
With two wins in just about a minute’s time in the cage, streetfighting superstar Kimbo Slice was making short work of these elderly brawlers. Up next, Slice would face England’s “The Colossus” James Thompson with 13 of his 14 career wins by finish.
EliteXC middleweight champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler scored his 12th KO/TKO win to get the belt. Making his first title defense, Lawler would tangle with a fellow knockout artist in Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith who owned 11 of his 14 wins by KO/TKO.
After an impressive first round submission win, undefeated Gina Carano was, now, a multi-dimensional threat while being the tip of the spear for women’s MMA. In her next bout, Carano faced Kaitlin Young who owned all four of her career wins by KO/TKO.
Don’t blink! Two ill-intentioned brawlers who only throw with all their power, UFC veteran David “Tank” Abbott readied to trade knuckle sandwiches with the heir apparent to his one-punch KO throne Kimbo Slice who scored a 19 second finish in his debut.
Following back-to-back 1st round finish wins, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva was quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with as he stepped into the EliteXC cage to face his greatest threat yet in former UFC heavyweight champ & BJJ blackbelt Ricco Rodriguez.
In the final show on CBS, EliteXC: Heat saw the promotion’s last event with action from Gina Carano, Roy Nelson vs. Andrei Arlovski, EliteXC welterweight champ Jake Shields faced Paul Daley, and Kimbo Slice’s unforgettable clash with Seth Petruzelli.
Live on CBS from Stockton, California, EliteXC: Unfinished Business saw EliteXC’s middleweight champ Robbie Lawler and EliteXC’s welterweight champ Jake Shields put their titles on the line. Plus, Nick Diaz and Cris “Cyborg” Santos in action.
EliteXC: Return of the King referenced EliteXC lightweight champion & native Hawaiian KJ Noons making his first and only title defense against UFC veteran Yves Edwards in the main event. Also in action, Nick Diaz, Murilo Rua, and Rafael Cavalcante.
EliteXC: Street Certified hosted an exciting night of fights headlined between two heavyweight tangles as Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva took on Ricco “Suave” Rodriguez, and internet superstar Kimbo Slice took on the original heavy-handed brawler “Tank” Abbott.
