Representing the 5th District of Illinois

Congressional App Challenge

Congressman Quigley is excited to announce Ava Hollis, a freshman at York High School, as the winner of the 2017 Congressional App Challenge for Illinois' Fifth Congressional District. Ava's app, React, aims to help connect people to nearby EpiPens, inhalers, and other medical supplies and services when first aid can be administered before paramedics are able to respond.

Established by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013, this competition is a nationwide event intended to engage students’ creativity and encourage their participation in STEM fields. This competition allows students to compete with peers in their own district by creating and exhibiting their software application, or ‘app’, for mobile, tablet, or computer device on a platform of their choice.

SUBMISSIONS FOR THE 2018 CONGRESSIONAL APP CHALLENGE ARE PENDING.
