Abstract: A system can offer an enhanced event experience for users of the system by tracking the locations of the users during a purchased-access event such as a ticketed event and offering real time location-based upgrades to the users. The locations of users can be used to determine a demonstrated interest by the user for a particular location or product in the event venue and to offer upgrades tailored to that demonstrated interest. For example, a concert attendee with a ticket for a particular seat may be detected a location relatively far from the user's seat such as a location near a seat of a friend of the user. The system can detect the user's location, identify available seats near the user's location, and offer the user an upgrade to the identified available seats. Location-based upgrades can also be provided in airplanes, hotels, cruise ships, or other venues or events.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for modifying publications of a network-based publication system are presented. The system receives a set of body coordinates from a client device and associates the set of body coordinates with a user account. The system identifies a set of clothing images within a set of publications retrieved as a result of a query. The system generates a set of modified clothing images from one or more images of the set of clothing images and causes presentation of the set of modified clothing images at the client device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for multi-dimensional query statement modification are described. A system presents a user interface including a first plurality of graphical elements representing a plurality of activity dimensions to a user. The system detects a user selection of a first activity dimension and a second user selection of a first attribute of the first activity dimension without a selection of the second attribute. The system searches objects using a search query based on the first activity dimension and the first attribute to return search results including a first object published on a network-based publication system by a client. The system provides a notification message to the user responsive to identifying feedback information that is received from a trading partner of the client as transgressing a first threshold. The feedback information is identified based on the first object and the second attribute that is not selected from the user interface.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method to provide status indictors on an image galley is disclosed. At least one item to be displayed in an image gallery on a client device is identified. Once identified, status information for the item is obtained. Subsequently, gallery rendering and display instructions are generated and transmitted to the client device. The rendering and display instructions include the status information and enables generation of status indicators from the status information for display over the image gallery at the client device. The rendering and display instructions may also include instructions for displaying the image gallery. The status information at the client device may be updated as status information changes.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for establishing an interaction session between a visual interface on any of a wide range of devices (e.g., POS, ATM, computer, television, or other visual display) and a smartphone having a camera by using the smartphone camera to scan or capture a special image (e.g., a QR code) presented on the visual interface. The special image serves as a token mark that can graphically encode information about the visual interface and the operator or owner of the device presenting the visual interface. Upon scanning the token mark, an application on the smartphone may establish a connection between the application and a server in communication with the visual interface. The application may then present some of actions provided by the visual interface on the smartphone display so that the user can select actions using the smartphone with the selected actions being performed on the visual interface.

Abstract: Example embodiments provide a multi-currency cart and checkout. In example embodiments, a currency accepted and a payment option for each item in a multi-currency cart is identified. A plurality of currency groups is generated based on the currency and payment options, whereby each currency group comprises one or more items having a same payment option and accepting a same currency. A multi-currency checkout user interface (UI) is presented, on a client device, that presents the plurality of currency groups. In response to a selection of a currency group from the plurality of currency groups, payment for the selected currency group is processed. An updated multi-currency checkout UI is presented in response to the payment processing. The updated multi-currency UI comprises remaining currency groups of the plurality of currency groups.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclose a system and method to manage a configuration of a plurality of content switching devices in a networked system by generating a first configuration data file and translating the first configuration data file into one or more device specific configuration data files. Each device specific configuration data file corresponds to a device type of the plurality of content switching devices. Some embodiments of the system and method then communicate the one or more device specific configuration data files to each of the plurality of content switching devices of a corresponding device type to configure each content switching device. Other systems and methods are disclosed.

Abstract: A method and a system to suggest a content item to be included in a message based on a determined context are provided. A context of a message that user is composing via a composition interface is determined based on one or more properties of the message. One or more inputs to the user composition interface are identified, the one or more inputs indicating at least a portion of intended content of the message. One or more suggested content items are provided for inclusion in the message based on the context of the message and the one or more inputs. A suggested content item of the suggested content items are added in the message based at least in part on the one or more properties of the message.

Abstract: During a training phase, a machine accesses reference images with corresponding depth information. The machine calculates visual descriptors and corresponding depth descriptors from this information. The machine then generates a mapping that correlates these visual descriptors with their corresponding depth descriptors. After the training phase, the machine may perform depth estimation based on a single query image devoid of depth information. The machine may calculate one or more visual descriptors from the single query image and obtain a corresponding depth descriptor for each visual descriptor from the generated mapping. Based on obtained depth descriptors, the machine creates depth information that corresponds to the submitted single query image.

Abstract: A system and method for generating an original image are provided. In example embodiments, a user may select a category with a plurality of images. Common image attributes from the plurality of images within the user selected category is identified. A base image using the plurality of images associated with the identified common image attributes is generated. An original image is generated by varying attributes within the base image.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for automated extraction of product data from production data of visual media content are presented. Production documents are received from a publisher of visual media content. The production documents contain information related to inventory items used in the production of the visual media content. Data, which represents shoppable items, is extracted from the production documents. The extracted data is used to create an index of shoppable items associated with the visual media content. The index includes metadata associated with the shoppable items. User provided data indicating a desired shoppable item from the visual media content is received. The desired shoppable item is identified and item information for the desired shoppable item is produced.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for using camera metadata for making recommendations are presented. At least one image file having camera metadata is received. The camera metadata of the at least one image file is analyzed to determine improvements to image capture aspects associated with the at least one image file. Feedback related to the improvements to the image capture aspects associated with the at least one image file is generated. In some embodiments, the feedback may be used to generate camera and other product upgrade recommendations.

Abstract: Example methods and systems described herein provide information on a mobile device. Some example embodiments may include receiving information that is current as of a specific period. The information may be subject to change with a progression of time. An example embodiment includes causing the received information to be output to a user interface of a mobile device at the same time that an element of a computing application is being output to the user interface. The element of the computing application may be associated with a computing application that is being executed by the mobile device.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve an apparatus, systems, and methods for soiled garment detection and notification. The method may include determining a laundering status of a garment based on a comparison of sensor data and a baseline odor level of the garment. The sensor data, which comprises a measure of odor being released by the garment, may be obtained from an olfactory sensor. The method further includes causing display of a user interface to present the laundering status of the garment.

Abstract: A system and method for creating a virtual world for supporting a consumer experience is disclosed. The apparatus in an example embodiment includes providing access to a database of item listing categories, each item listing category in the database having an associated link to a source for physical items corresponding to the item listing category; generating an image of a virtual store in a three-dimensional (3D) virtual environment; populating the virtual store with at least one first object representing an item listing category; receiving a signal indicative of user interaction with the at least one first object; and using the associated link to re-direct the user to the source for physical items corresponding to the item listing category represented by the at least one first object with which the user interacted.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a selection of an image in a user interface is received. Then information about the image is received. Then a look is identified for the image, wherein the look is a category for the image based at least in part on one or more visual attributes of the image as shown in the image The identified look is then compared with one or more item listings stored in a database to identify one or more matching item listings, the one or more matching item listings containing associated images that correspond to the look. Finally, the one or more matching item listings are displayed in the user interface.

Abstract: A method and system are described to provide a user-widget-based transaction environment. In one example embodiment, an electronic magazine may be presented to a user device as a widget without using a browser. The electronic magazine may comprise two or more data pages. A user selection of at least one of the two or more data pages may be detected and then communicated from the user device across a network for further processing.

Abstract: Search result-based listing generation in a single view is described. Initially, search query input is received via a user interface and, as it is received, a listing system presents obtained search results via the user interface. The listing system supports generation of listings from search results, in part, by employing a listing schema that defines attributes for listings. Responsive to selection of a search result, for instance, the listing system identifies information of the selected search result corresponding to these attributes. The listing system then configures the user interface to present, concurrently with the search results, a listing template with this information. These listing templates are the basis for generating listings exposed to client devices by a distribution platform. Responsive to input to submit a listing, for instance, the listing system forms the listing from the information in the listing template and communicates the listing to the distribution platform.

Abstract: Digital image capture session and metadata association techniques are described. In one example, a user input is received to initiate an image capture session. At least one digital image is captured using a digital camera during the image capture session. Audio input data is also collected using an audio input device during the image capture session. and converted into text data, e.g., speech-to-text. Metadata is generated based on the text data and associated with the at least one digital image. The at least one digital image is output as having the associated metadata as completion of the image capture session.

Abstract: Camera platform techniques are described. In an implementation, a plurality of digital images and data describing times, at which, the plurality of digital images are captured is received by a computing device. Objects of clothing are recognized from the digital images by the computing device using object recognition as part of machine learning. A user schedule is also received by the computing device that describes user appointments and times, at which, the appointments are scheduled. A user profile is generated by the computing device by training a model using machine learning based on the recognized objects of clothing, times at which corresponding digital images are captured, and the user schedule. From the user profile, a recommendation is generated by processing a subsequent user schedule using the model as part of machine learning by the computing device.

Abstract: Camera platform and object inventory control techniques are described. In an implementation a live feed of digital images is output in a user interface by a computing device. A user selection is received through interaction with the user interface of at least one of the digital images. An object, included within the at least one digital image, is recognized using machine learning. Metadata is then obtained that pertains to the recognized object. Augmented reality digital content is generated based at least in part of the obtained metadata. The augmented reality digital content is displayed as part of the live feed of digital images as associated with the object.

Abstract: System and methods for tracking of user interactions are disclosed. A server system receives a first user interaction record from a first client device. The server system receives a second user interaction record from a second client device, wherein the first user interaction record and the second user interaction record are both formatted using a multi-platform user interaction data record format. The server system stores the first user interaction record and the second user interaction record at a database at the server system.

Abstract: An inventory management system includes at least one hardware processor and an inventory management engine executing on the at least one hardware processor. The inventory management engine is configured to receive, from a mobile computing device of a consumer, product information associated with an article offered for sale in a retail establishment of a merchant, a product tag is attached to the article and includes a tag ID, the tag ID being a unique identifier assigned to the product tag. The inventory management engine also receives the tag ID from the mobile computing device, generates an online listing for the article in an online marketplace, the online listing including the product information, associates the tag ID with the online listing, determines that the merchant is associated with the article, and places the online listing for sale in the online marketplace on behalf of the merchant.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing structured descriptions of entries are described. For example, a machine receives a textual description of an entry representing an item. The textual description represents the item being submitted by a user, and received from a client device associated with the user by a network-based system. The entry, after creation, corresponds to a listing of the item at the network-based system. The machine generates a structured description of the entry based on the textual description of the entry. The structured description includes a name-value pair derived from the textual description submitted by the user. The machine receives an edited version of the structured description based on causing a display of the structured description in a user interface of the client device. The machine stores the edited version of the structured description in a record of a database.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for modifying image parameters of an image to be captured by an image capturing device based on input from a wearable computing device. In some embodiments, the system receives image data, determines an image parameter based on the image data, and receives data from a wearable computing device positioned proximate to a subject of the image. The system modifies the image parameter based on the data received from the wearable computing device and captures the image data using the modified image parameter.

Abstract: A system server includes a database of two-dimensional images and a processor coupled to a hardware memory with instructions that in response to execution by the processor direct performance of operations. The operations include generating a digital model from the images in the database and communicating a first portion of the digital model as an enhanced view to a user device. The first portion corresponds to a first line of sight orientation of the user device as measured by an orientation sensor. The operations include receiving a signal based on sensor data measured by the orientation sensor. The signal indicates movement of the user device from the first line of sight orientation to a second line of sight orientation. In response, the method includes communicating a second portion of the digital model to the user device that corresponds to the second line of sight orientation of the user device.

Abstract: Information can be provided in a convenient manner to help a user decide what events to attend. The information can include information regarding a popularity of the events. The popularity of the events can be based upon the number of people expected to attend, the number of the user's friends expected to attend, and/or the number of people fitting user-defined criteria who are expected to attend. The events for a user-specified time period can be shown on a map along with information representing the popularity of the events. Thus, the user can choose to attend those events in the user's area which are more popular. The map can be displayed on a user device, such as a cellular telephone. In this manner, the user can more readily attend those particular events which the user is more likely to enjoy.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing network traffic routing are described. The system receives network traffic from external-facing load balancers at a gateway of a distributed network application. The network traffic includes one or more data requests. The system inspects a data request of the one or more data requests to determine a context of the data request. The system routes the network traffic from the external-facing load balancers to the gateway based on a geographic location of an origin of the network traffic. Finally, the system routes, based on the context of the data request corresponding to data stored at a database, the data request from the gateway to a first internal-facing load balancer of a plurality of internal-facing load balancers associated with a first application server of a plurality of application servers having a closest geographic proximity to the database.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for providing information in an augmented reality display are provided. In example embodiments, an initial continuous stream of image data captured by a client device is received. An object within the continuous stream of image data is initially identified. The continuous stream of image data is further received and comprises additional image data regarding the object. The additional image data provides more visual details and features of the object than the initially received image data. Using the additional visual data, the identification of the object is refined to indicate a specific type of object. Based on the refined identification of the object, a search for information pertaining to the specific type of object is performed. A result is formatted to be displayed with a real-time image of the object on the client device.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include a system comprising a machine-readable storage medium storing at least one program and computer-implemented methods for detecting anomalies in revisions to a web document. Consistent with some embodiments, a method includes publishing, at a network-based content publication platform, a web document comprising a plurality of distinct elements generated using data received from a computing device of a user. The method further includes accessing an updated web document that was generated based on modifications to the published web document made by the user. The method further includes generating one or more anomaly scores based on a comparison of the updated web document to the published web document, and determining whether to allow publication of the updated web document based on a result of a comparison of the anomaly score to a threshold anomaly score.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for predicting a status of a transaction are described. Feature data related to one or more transactions is collected and a subset of features is selected for use in predicting the status of the transaction. A model is trained using the collected feature data that corresponds to the selected features, and the model is applied to feature data of a selected transaction to generate a probability of the selected transaction attaining one or more defined statuses. Mitigating or preventive actions are performed based on the generated probability.

Abstract: Techniques for mapping item listings from a first taxonomy to a second taxonomy are described. In an example embodiment, item listings from a first database storing a first taxonomy and item listings from a second database storing a second taxonomy are obtained. Then, for each of the obtained item listings, a plurality of features is extracted, including at least one feature related to an image associated with the item listing and at least one feature related to text associated with the item listing. Then a mapping between item listings in the first taxonomy and item listings in the second taxonomy is created based on the plurality of features extracted by the feature extraction component, wherein the mapping identifies which item listings in the first taxonomy correlate to a same product as which item listings in the second taxonomy.

Abstract: Gesture functionality is provided in a computing environment. In example embodiments, a gesture input is received. A style difference is identified between a known gesture input of a set of known gesture inputs and the received gesture input. The set of known gesture inputs is caused to be modified to include the style difference by updating a database that stores the set of known gesture inputs.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a system and method is illustrated including receiving a feedback request identifying a particular user, retrieving a feedback entry in response to the feedback request, the feedback entry containing a first term, building a scoring model based, in part, upon a term frequency count denoting a frequency with which the first term appears in a searchable data structure, mapping the first term to a graphical illustration based upon a second term associated with the graphical illustration such that the graphical illustration may be used to represent the second term, and generating a feedback page containing the first term and the graphical illustration. The method may include assigning a value to the first term so as to identify the first term, assigning the first term to the searchable data structure, and extracting the first term from the searchable data structure based, in part, upon an extraction rule.

Abstract: Method, apparatus, and system for providing an item image to a client for display in a contextual environment are described. In some embodiments, the user may select an item for display in the contextual environment, and the user may position a camera coupled to a processing system to capture the contextual environment. A placeholder may be generated and associated with an item selected by a user. In an embodiment, the generated placeholder may be placed in a location within the contextual environment, and the user's processing system may send a visual data stream of the camera-captured environment to a server. In an embodiment, the user's processing device may receive a modified data stream including an image of the item, and the user's processing device may display the item image in the same location as the placeholder.

Abstract: Systems and methods to identify a filter set in a keyword query are described. The system receives a query from a client machine. The system identifies filter sets based on the query and a based on rules. The filter sets include a first filter set that includes a first filter. The rules are utilized to associate at the least one keyword from the query to the first filter. The system further scores the filter sets based on probabilities to generate scores. The probabilities describe occurrences of attribute-value pairs in listings that respectively describe items that were previously transacted on a network-based marketplace. The system further identifies the first filter set from the filter sets based on the scores, generates a user interface including search results that are identified based on the identified first filter set, and communicates the user interface, over the network, to the client machine.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for enhancing user queries. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving user data from a plurality of users in respective user sessions where the user data for each user includes at least one manufacturer-identified term for a product and at least one user term for the product, associating the user term for the product and the manufacturer-identified term for the product in response to receiving the user term and the manufacturer-identified term within a user session from a threshold number of users, and returning search results based on the associated manufacturer-identified term in response to receiving a search query that includes the user term.

Abstract: A system may detect multiple accesses of an engagement interface from a user. The multiple accesses may include a first group of accesses performed by a first device and a second group of accesses performed by a second device. Both the first device and the second device may correspond to the user. A message may be selected from a set of messages. Moreover, the message may correspond to the engagement interface. The system may identify the first group of accesses as having a greater amount of user interaction with the engagement interface than the second group of accesses. The system may then determine that the selected message has the greatest likelihood of being read on the first device. The selected message may be communicated to the first device based on the determination.

Abstract: A system or a method detects an electronic communication between a first communication device and a second communication device. An audible communication holding routine associated with the second communication device is determined and the electronic communication is monitored to automatically determine whether the electronic communication is put on hold by the second communication device based, at least in part, on detecting that the audible communication holding routine is included in the electronic communication. When it is determined that the electronic communication is put on hold, presentation of one or more communication holding options to the first communication device is caused.

Abstract: Systems and methods for visualization of an item in an environment using augmented reality are provided. Environment image data containing an image of an environment is received. A selection of an item for placement into an indicated location of the environment is received. An item image of the selected item is scaled based on dimensions determined from the environment image data for the environment. The scaled item image is augmented into the image of the environment at the indicated location to generate an augmented reality image. The augmented reality image is displayed on a device of a user, whereby the scaled item image in the augmented reality image is selectable to cause display of information. A selection of the scaled item image is received. In response to the selection of the scaled item image, the information is presented on the device of the user.

Abstract: Techniques for generating a digital wardrobe are presented herein. A transceiver can be configured to receive a request having a garment identifier and a user identifier. Additionally, an access module can be configured to access a first garment model, access a body model of the user corresponding to the user identifier, and access a second garment model corresponding to the user identifier. Furthermore, a processor can be configured by a garment simulation module to position the body model inside the first garment model and the second garment model, and calculate simulated forces based on the positioning. Moreover, a rendering module can be configured to generate an image of the garment models draped on the body model based on the calculated simulated forces. Subsequently, a display module can be configured to cause presentation of the generated image on a display of a device.

Abstract: A computer server for a network-based transaction system is coupled to a kiosk via a data communications network. The kiosk includes a computer processor, an input device, an electronic display unit, a plurality of compartments, and a data communications port. The computer server receives input from a seller of an item. The input includes a listing of the item for sale on the network-based transaction system. The server identifies an available compartment from the plurality of compartments based on the size of the item for sale. The available compartment is configured to receive the item for sale from the seller. The server transmits an identification of the available compartment to the seller via the electronic display unit, and enables access to the available compartment by the seller.

Abstract: A storage cluster in a computing network can operate according to a service-level agreement (e.g., a set of performance conditions). The network can receive a request to register a new storage volume with the storage cluster. In response, the network may evaluate the current extent of replication of data in the storage cluster and how adding the new volume may affect the performance of the cluster to determine whether to register the new volume with the storage cluster.

Abstract: Systems and methods of site traffic control are disclosed. In some example embodiments, a first request for an online service to perform an operation is received from a first user on a first client device, and at least one overload condition for the online service is detected, or otherwise determined, with the overload condition(s) corresponding to a first request time of the first request. A first token and a first return time parameter for the first user are determined based on the determination of the overload condition. The first token and the first return time parameter are transmitted to the first client device.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of graphical user interface element adjustment may include presenting a graphical user interface element that includes an adjustable element that is configured to be moved to adjust a selection of a value between a first end value and a second end value. In response to a movement of the adjustable element to adjust the selection of the value, the computer-implemented method further include obtaining a time for the movement of the adjustable element and selecting the first end value to adjust based on the time. The computer-implemented method may further include determining an updated end value based on the first end value and the time and presenting the updated end value in the graphical user interface element in place of the first end value.

Abstract: One example embodiment relates to a method that comprises receiving marketplace listing information from a user, the marketplace listing information including a listing title, and accessing a plurality of character patterns for attracting attention to marketplace listings. The method includes analyzing, using one or more processors, the listing title to identify at least one of the plurality of character patterns in the listing title. A request for a new listing title is generated based on identifying at least one of the plurality of character patterns in the listing title.

Abstract: A system and method for a handshake authenticated coded locked container are provided. In example embodiments, a digitally encoded lock mechanism that is used by a sender to lock a container before shipping is determined. An access key is received from the recipient that receives the container. An authentication process is performed that determines whether the access key triggers the unlocking of the container. Based on a determination that the access key triggers the unlocking of the container, instructions are provided to unlock the container.

Abstract: A system and method for structuring search results for attribute comparison are presented. A product selection from a user device is received. The product selection has a plurality of attributes associated with it. Adjustable sliders configured to allow the user device. One or more adjustments of the adjustable sliders is received. In response to an adjustment made to a first adjustable slider of the plurality of adjustable sliders, an analysis of a networked database for search results that match values indicated by the adjustable sliders including the adjustment made to the first adjustable slider is performed. The search results are caused to be presented on the user interface displayed on the user device. The search results can be in example form of a multi-dimensional graph or list.

Abstract: A device displays a listing of items in an item data display area on a display. The device receives an indication of a pinch gesture from a touch-enabled screen and scales a facet of the item data to produce a scaled-facet listing responsive to the pinch gesture. The device scales by modifying a degree of a characteristic corresponding with a facet of the item data displayed in the scaled-data display area in an increasing amount responsive to the pinch-in gesture. The modifying further comprises producing a scaled-out listing implemented as an updated portion of item data having a temporal indicator that is later than an initial display of item data by an amount proportional to a magnitude of a pinch gesture characteristic corresponding to the pinch-in gesture. Finally, the device displays the scaled-facet listing as an updated set of item data.

Abstract: A method, system, and article of manufacture comprising tabulating, for a plurality of users making recommendations, information including respective user interests and recommendations, storing the tabulated information in a database, responsive to a query from a client machine, the query seeking a recommendation from a user having a particular user interest, filtering the stored tabulated information to determine recommendations from users having the particular user interest, and presenting the recommendations to the client machine. Also included is a community of parents who are registered on one site to find on other sites products that they are curious about or want to give feedback on, and then collect those items and share insights or request guidance from at least some of the individual parents in the community.
