  • Patent number: 10572825
Abstract: In one example, the present disclosure describes a device, computer-readable medium, and method for inferring the presence of an occluded entity in a video captured via drone. For instance, in one example, a video is obtained. The video is captured by a drone monitoring a field of view of a scene. • Patent number: 10575295
Abstract: A distributed antenna system is provided that frequency shifts the output of one or more microcells to a 60 GHz or higher frequency range for transmission to a set of distributed antennas. The cellular band outputs of these microcell base station devices are used to modulate a 60 GHz (or higher) carrier wave, yielding a group of subcarriers on the 60 GHz carrier wave. This group will then be transmitted in the air via analog microwave RF unit, after which it can be repeated or radiated to the surrounding area. The repeaters amplify the signal and resend it on the air again toward the next repeater. In places where a microcell is required, the 60 GHz signal is shifted in frequency back to its original frequency (e.g., the 1.9 GHz cellular band) and radiated locally to nearby mobile devices.

  • Patent number: 10567064
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for a beam recovery when there has been a partial control channel failure. Transient obstructions, and other interference effects can cause the failure of a beam pair link which can comprise a transmit beam and a receive beam associated with respective antennas on a transmitter and receiver. A group of control channels (downlink control channels) (configured as a control resource set “CORESET”) on a group of beam pair links can be associated with a group of uplink control resources (Physical Uplink Control Channel resources). When a subset of the CORESET group fails, the user equipment (UE) device can find another PUCCH that is associated with a working CORESET to send an indication to the network about the failure. When the network receives the indication, the network can switch the failed CORESET to a new beam pair link.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to an auto-scaling software-defined monitoring (“SDM”) platform for software-defined networking (“SDN”) service assurance. According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, an SDM controller can monitor event data associated with a network event that occurred within a virtualized IP SDN network that is monitored by a virtualized SDM resources platform. The SDM controller can measure, based upon the event data, a quality of service (“QoS”) performance metric associated with the virtualized SDM resource platform. The SDN controller can determine, based upon the QoS performance metric, whether an auto-scaling operation is to be performed. The auto-scaling operation can include reconfiguring the virtualized SDM resources platform by adding virtual machine capacity for supporting event management tasks either by instantiating a new virtual machine or by migrating an existing virtual machine to a new hardware host.

Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards selecting, by user equipment, a selected maximum transmission unit (MTU) packet size for wireless data transfer based on radio signal conditions. In one aspect, reference signal received power (RSRP) and reference signal received quality (RSRQ) are used to select the MTU packet size, e.g., by using RSRP and RSRQ as indices to a lookup table of predetermined MTU packet sizes, such as previously determined by field testing. In general, smaller MTU packet sizes are used with poorer quality radio signal conditions. The selected MTU packet size may be increased or decreased based on actual performance data and/or based on changed radio signal conditions, such as for a subsequent data transfer session. The user equipment may comprise a Cat-M device that transfers data related to Machine-Type Communications (MTC)/Machine to Machine (M2M) communications.
