If DCF went to your cousin's house, they may already be working on it, but to be sure you should talk to your cousin about contacting DCF to make the change of custody happen.
I was never contacted. I know he had family up there that probably handled his things. I don't have contact with them. I'm wondering if too much time is passed to find out exactly what happened. I know that he had a will. When he got my personal information from me to a fix me as his... Read more »

You should contact a probate attorney "up there", in whatever state that is.
We’ve never combined bank accounts. He’s been married three times and he’s always insisted on being the provider. Even our therapist has suggested he let me pay for stuff and he won’t let me. The answer is yes. Regardless of your name not being on bank accounts or retirement accounts, you are entitled to half the assets accumulated during the marriage. Depending on the finances, you may also be entitled to some short term alimony to help re-establish yourself as a single person. I... Read more »

My brothers and I received a generic letter and check in the mail stating the estate was closed but we never saw the will or signed anything. What do I do? The checks we received bounced also.

Sorry for your loss and please accept my condolences. You should start by checking in the county where the estate probate was filed, you can get all the estate documents from the clerk of the court, but you should have received notification from the estate attorney/personal... Read more »

You do not say how you lost custody. If your parental rights were terminated then there may be no recourse. On the other hand, if 100% timesharing was awarded to the other parent then you can go back to court for a modification. Speak to a local family law attorney.
Good luck.
I went to an interview on Monday and was asked if I could start the next day. I came in on Tuesday and worked 9 1/2 hours at the end of the day I was told that it was a trial and that I would be called back if they decided to continue on with the employment. I was not paid for the time that I... Read more »

It is not illegal for an employer to trick you into coming in to work without telling you your first day would be a "trial period." However, it IS illegal for them not to pay you for the time you actually worked.
If you are not paid for the hours you worked you should report this... Read more »

You need to look at the pleadings that were filed in 2014-15 to see what the determination was regarding paternity. Depending on what they say you may have a problem because you have waited so long to challenge the finding (at least in court). It is very difficult to recover child support that has... Read more »

the whole idea sounds very flakey. First, he can't establish a trust having as beneficiary a dead person; nor can a trust naming her as trustor be established after her death either. Your issue is a criminal defense issue, not probate. Probate concerns the settling of the affairs of a person who has died. Talk to the person or office to whom you are supposed to report for your therapy.

My son’s mother threatens to leave the state and never allow me to see him again. I want to be on the birth certificate and have shared custody. She does not cooperate.
