Your county Superior Courthouse will have a family law division where there are judges who specialize in hearing this kind of a case. Before Covid there were offices you could go to for assistance in filing your own documents. The dissolution petition is online and pretty self explanatory. If... Read more »

Ms. cameron is correct. I would just add that they can't garnish your wages with a North Carolina judgment. If you bought the bed in NC its likely if you were sued, they would sue you in NC. If you bought the bed in TN or VA, wage garnishment is allowed if they sue you there and get a judgment... Read more »

He did Not quarantine, and said he got a 24hr test done at a place I know does not offer that service. Only 2-4 days due to it being a public testing facility. Also a few people also became ill immediately after his arrival.

If you contracted Covid-19 as a front-line worker, you enjoy a rebuttable presumption that it was work-related. Once that is proven, it is the same as any other Workers' Compensation claim. In Illinois, an injured worker is not compensated for the first three days that they must be off work... Read more »

Q: I am a Maryland landlord and wish to sell my rental property. Our tenant is month to month. Can we sell during pandemic?

Our tenant owes 11k in back rent due to pandemic. We sent a certified letter to her to vacate in 30 days as we need to sell. We are trying to prevent the house going into foreclosure. She said she’s not leaving. What rights do we have as landlords?

So, provided the 30 day letter was done properly, you would need to file a Tenant Holding Over action with the District Court. This will start the process for eviction. Unfortunately, the Courts are in Phase 2 so there is no guarantee when the courts will hear...

There is a moratorium on evictions for non-payment of rent if the tenant meets the CDC requirements and gives the landlord the required form. Check the CDC web site for the form and the requirements. The moratorium is set to expire 1/31/2021, but there is talk of extending it.
