Switzerland's candidature for the UN Security Council

Switzerland is seeking a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council in 2023–24. The Federal Council formally submitted the candidature in 2011 after consultations with Parliament. The election for the two-year term will take place in New York in June 2022.
