Q: How to you respond to a summons when there is no case number on it and it was not even served correctly?

I was served papers at an address that I have not lived at for 4 years and I just by chance was given them by the current tenant. There is no case number on the papers and the debt has already been paid. How do I respond to these papers with no case number?

Steve Dashiak answered on Oct 25, 2021

This is a great question.

In short: you should reach out to the attorney whose address is noted in the paperwork, and send them proof the debt is paid. If it is, that will be the end of it. If the debt isn't actually paid, you should draft and file an answer to the complaint. There are...

Did you call in and report the accident between when you left the scene and when the officer called you in the evening? If not, why not? By not doing so, you committed hit and run. The policy behind the law is if someone in one vehicle is injured, someone in the other vehicle should summon help.... Read more »

Depends. You should consult with an attorney.

Most books have several layers of rights and owners, so even if images are public domain, where the images are may still have property rights.

Your residential time is defined by the parenting plan. Unless the parenting plan says that she can pick your daughter up during your time because your daughter says she wants her to, then she shouldn't be doing this. You should both be following the parenting plan as best you can.

The police will often create an incident report. If you called 911, you can request the call records, but they don't keep them for very long, so you should make that request ASAP.
