Travis Newton Criminal Defense, DUI Defense and Personal Injury Attorney
Attorney Travis Newton is from Anderson South Carolina and is a graduate of Clemson University where he majored in Psychology. Travis was hired as a Manager Trainee by a Fortune 500 Logistics & Transportation Company via the Clemson University Career Center two weeks before college graduation. Three years (and three promotions) later Market Development Manager Travis Newton resigned to attend law school. Travis earned his Juris Doctor from the Appalachian School of Law which is described as a rigorous program for the professional training of lawyers that emphasizes professional responsibility, dispute resolution, and practice skills for becoming a successful and ethical lawyer.
As a law student, Travis participated in a summer externship with South Carolina's 8th Circuit Public Defender's Office under the direction of South Carolina Criminal Defense Attorneys Charles Gross and Rauch Wise. Travis was admitted to the South Carolina State Bar days before he began work as an associate attorney for The Cogdill Law Firm of Greenville South Carolina. Travis was a Cogdill Law Firm Associate for two years before founding Travis A. Newton Law P.A. in his hometown of Anderson South Carolina. Attorney Chris Cogdill remains a close friend and primary advisor for Travis in the practice of law.
Travis has been the guest speaker at "Winning DUI Cases" which is a multi-Bar-approved continuing legal education course held live at various locations around the country for defense attorneys, prosecutors, and judges. Travis gave lectures on contested case hearings for implied consent violations and provided South Carolina case law updates that he earlier argued before the South Carolina Court of Appeals. Winning DUI Cases is presented by Your DUI Pro Founder and National DUI expert witness Dave Cox.
Travis Newton has defended thousands of clients in South Carolina Summary and General Sessions Courts and has presented oral arguments before the South Carolina Court of Appeals.
