Q: I have a complaint against my employer for harassing me through text messages calling me names and stalking my house.

I need to know what the exact statutes are in the state of NJ and details to file the claim. I’m also not sure if I can file other complaints about her?

Q: If a police officer marks down the speed limit on the ticket then can I fight the speeding ticket since he can't prove?

I was regrettably doing 88mph in a 35mph school zone. Honest to God I didn't know I was in a school zone I thought the speed limit was 50 either way I was late for work and speeding. There is also the possibility that the prosecutor will have the officer’s handwritten notes indicating that the officer already gave you a break when he issued the speeding ticket to you. Q: Am going through a divorce and my wife took out a card which I was just a user and didnt sign anything. Am i responisbl

She is trying to make me pay for 1/2 of it when the charges arent mine but she says she used the card for the house. As a user I can not get the transactions through Chase as she will need to approve it.

Its impossible for a lawyer to simply tell you that you are or are not liable for any or all of the charges on that card since there are multiple scenarios where a court can impose liability. Q: My mother in law died over a year ago. Her estate was insolvent- she owed much more in debts than she had in assets.

Q: Who is responsible for retaining wall in nj?

My neighbors property is about 10 ft above my level and the retaining wall is falling off. They want me to help pay for its repair.

The owner of the property on which the retaining wall is located. The exact position of the wall should be shown on the survey of the property. Any questions about the construction should be addressed to the municipal building inspector.

The executor has time to sell the property when the executor feels it is the best time for the benefit of the Estate.

Yes, but I suggest you write to contract purchaser that you are declaring that the buyer has violated the terms of the contract. Further, you are keeping the deposit in satisfaction of the losses you have suffered by buyers' failure to perform.

You can't still receive a ticket as you would be past the statute of limitations, but it sounds like you may already have had one. That's the same as the police officer motioning/telling you over his speaker to slow down. That doesn't mean that he can't give you a ticket later for speeding at that time. So yes you can still get a ticket for what happened.

He ( and a guardian on his behalf) need to meet with a family law attorney immediately. Yes, there are provisions in the law to address an individual with legitimate disabilities and presumably, if he is disabled, his child[ren] are receiving benefits as well.

Q: Is there a legal distinction between the terms “roadway” and “highway?” Are they interchangeable?

For example if a section in this law refers only to “highways” does that law apply to all roadways? In regards to a pedestrian moving law.

It would depend on the statute where each one is written. Don't forget that statutes are written in different years and times so many words may mean something then and something different now, you have to look at the definition at the time the law was passed.

It is a violation both of civil law and criminal law in New Jersey to lock you out of your apartment. As a cosigner, you are fully responsible for the debt. Age or state of health is no defense. If a judgment is entered against you, it is a valid lien for 20 years. You may be able to have the debt discharged by filing in bankruptcy. Speak to an attorney with bankruptcy experience,

Q: Can an employer notify an employee 5mins before a double shift starts that their shifts have been canceled indefinitely

These two shifts that were terminated on 5 minutes notice made up half of the employee's weekly income as an Emt-b in the state of NJ.

Reason cited for terminating shifts were for "budgetary purposes" when clearly it is not.

Employers have a lot of discretion regarding changes to work schedules, and there are no laws that require employers to offer a certain amount of hours, so your employer's actions are not inherently unlawful.
