The 2022 US Open prize money has topped $60 million for the first time, topping the record-breaking $57.5 million figure from 2021.
The total prize money pool for 2022 stands at $60,102,000, the highest amount ever offered and an increase of 4.59% compared to 2021.
The champion in New York will receive a cheque for $2,600,000, 4% more than Daniil Medvedev and Emma Radacanu received last year when they both lifted their maiden Grand Slam titles.
The runner-up will also receive 4% more than in 2021, with $1,300,000 heading their way after the final.
All of the main draw rounds see similar increases compared to twelve months ago, with first-round losers bagging themselves $80,000, 6.67% more than 2021.
In men’s and women’s doubles, the champions will each split a cheque for $688,000, up 4.24%, vs 2021.
In addition to the main draw prize money, the USTA has apportioned over $6 million towards the qualifying draw, a 223% increase from 2016.
The USTA arrived at the increased qualifying prize money numbers after conferring with the WTA and ATP Player Councils, with a focus on increasing winnings for players competing in earlier rounds. The USTA

The US dollar amounts have also been converted into GBP and Euros to compare. The exchange rate is from late August but will be updated to the mid-market exchange rate on the day of the final when the tournament is complete.
