Cuyahoga County Councilman Dale Miller, representing District 2, was re-elected Nov. 6.
Miller won his race against Republican challenger Anna Melendez.
According to final, unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, Miller won by a vote of 30,306 to 11,403 (73 percent to 27 percent).
“I’m eager to continue my work for Cuyahoga County,” Miller said. “We have a lot of important issues to deal with.” He noted the looming 2013 budget update, complete with tightening financial restraints, and the prospects for a new county administrative building.
Over the past few months, Miller and Melendez met in several public forums and discussed the role of the recently formed council. The race was one of established representative against fresh personality for the district. Melendez hit the streets and led a grassroots campaign that kept issues like housing and animal care at the forefront.
“Her campaign has been a credit to Cuyahoga County,” Miller said.
