The opera trained singer Cassie Cisyk was born in Queens, New York to
Ukrainian parents. Apart from working on commercials, she also recorded
with well known artists, but her love was Ukrainian music. Kvitka
(which in Ukrainian means 'Flower') recorded only two albums, 'Kvitka'
and 'Kvitka Two Colors', which catapulted her into the top ranks of
contemporary popular Ukrainian singers, born outside the country. She
succumbed to cancer five days before her 45th birthday.
