Why do some of you think it is ok to email me many times a day about your product and try to schedule a meeting? You are being ignored for a reason…
Oh that hint wasnt strong enough so you feel you should call me up multiple times a day? Even after the first phone call I said I wasn’t interested, yet you are still that damn persistent on making me say yes. NO go away.
I am sorry, but you will get a better reply out of me if you were not being a wacked out stalker trying to pressure me into some bull crap. This isnt the first time that this has happen which now I feel that this was the last straw for me to ever sign up for any spiceworks/vendor webinar.
Good job.

Those guys and the hard sale vendors that call you every other day. I have one hounding me to make a decision in regards to a converged virtualization product. If they keep pushing their solution will not be considered. Hint!!

Yes I know what you mean!
I’ve got a guy from a mobile phone company who kept on calling and trying to set up meetings so we could benefit from 4G mobiles, I kept telling him we were in a contract which still had some time to run and we were happy with our current supplier and any way there was no 4G signal anywhere near the office so most of the time it was completely irrelevant to us. He eventually went quiet but now there is a 4G signal in our area and he’s back again argh!
I usually ask them to send me an email with a link to their website and any relevant details and if I want anything from them I’ll know how to contact them (it seldom works!)
I suppose you have got to feel a bit sorry for them, they’ve obviously got targets to meet and thing to sell but they can be a damn nuisance!

“…You are being ignored for a reason…”
This may apply, but maybe not:
A courtesy initial reply from you for any vendor whose video conference you attended (or registered for) should be in order. Also, using your work email address is not the best option … nuff said.
Couldn’t agree more. There was a thread about this some years back and there was one vendor I remember saying what amounted to, “but how am I supposed to get a hold of you?”
You’re not. You can tell you’re not because I’m not letting you.

I’ve only been in my role for about 6 months, and I get cold called at least 3-4 times a week from a sales person trying to learn more about my business. We are a small company, and do not have a large network. We usually only work with CDW, and a few other companies on certain occasions. But it never fails. I get caught picking up the phone to someone wanted to sell me more products then what is needed for my business.

I have emailed them back with a polite note of I wasn’t interested. But I think I messed up telling them I missed the webinar anyways then the flood gate opened.

Had a vendor being a smart a$$ and emailed me this back.

I wasn’t very polite when I replied to him, the ceo, marketing, PR, etc…

I suppose they pay a lot of money for these various advertising packages (webinar, ads, etc.) and there is substantial pressure put on these guys to make some of that back. There’s still old school sales managers out there that could care less how pissed off you get because of their constant badgering.
I’m going through this EXACT thing right now with EMC. I’ve told them on more than a handful of occasions that I wasn’t interested. They continue to call/email me daily and now, somehow, they’ve gotten my cell phone and they call it multiple times a day. RIDICULOUS!
The worst ones to me are the ones who write “We’ve scheduled your webinar as previously discussed…”.
My Outlook Calendar must be pulling off some serious “magic” tricks of it’s own when I’m not at the computer.

Even more aggravating if what they sell is expensive. They pretty much have everything to gain, because if 1 in 100 do purchase they are way ahead.
I love getting those email marketing letters from a person I’ve never heard of, at a company I’ve never heard of, pitching a product I’ve never heard of, but nonetheless they start off by saying, “Thank you for your interest in…”
I NEVER sign up for anyone’s mailing list, but it seems like I’m on a new mailing list every week.

I don’t think any of the stalker firms are reading this.

I worked in sales for a while. Wasn’t IT products. If a customer called in to complain about me abusing his or her email and phone and voicemail my boss would apologize profusely and take their case “personally” to ensure they were properly taken care of. He’d then high-5 me and take me out for lunch on the company.

I should change my name to 4c 6f 76 65 20 48 6f 6f 6b 65 72 73 20 61 6e 64 20 41 6d 70 68 65 74 61 6d 69 6e 65 73, then again those sales people will probably kick my damn door in instead of just stalking me.

This is the best answer I have seen here. And nice to know, I have not had this issue, but will let Sean know if it happens.
