Apple unveils new Apple Games app

Apple today announced a new Apple Games app, a new destination for all the games on your iPhone and iPad.

Games incorporates games from the App Store, a dedicated section for Apple Arcade, and Game Center social features like leaderboards and challenges.

The Games app mostly seems like a way to make the most popular genre of the App Store, that is mobile games, available in a more dedicated, curated, experience.

Apple hopes it will improve discovery and help people discover new titles.

It also provides a much needed home for the Game Center social functionality that was previously buried inside Settings. Inside of Games, there’s even a dedicated Play Together tab to highlight multiplayer experiences.

The Games app will be preinstalled on everyone’s home screen with iOS 26, iPadOS 26 and macOS Tahoe.
