JBL launched the gorgeous new white/gold treatment on its smart Google Home and Alexa Authentics speaker lineup earlier this year at CES, and Amazon is now offering them at $100 off. These higher-end home and portable speakers did see some solid drops for a couple days during the Prime Day event a couple weeks ago, but there are some notable discounts live again today with the more compact 200 variant at $249.95 shipped and the regularly $450 JBL Authentics 300 at $349.95 shipped.
Regularly $350 and $450, respectively, you’re looking at a $100 discount on both models for the lowest prices we can find. Again, we did see them drop a bit lower for a couple days during Prime Day, but those offers didn’t even stick around for the entire event and deals on the new white/gold variant have been mostly hard to come by since release earlier this year. Today’s deals are, in fact, only the third time we have seen them down to notable prices on Amazon.
The white/gold treatment here is really the only difference between these newer models and the black Authentics speakers – those models are also on sale right now for the record.
I have had a chance to listen to these speakers in action and came away impressed with the audio quality, but it’s really all about the notable connectivity options – Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, AirPlay, Alexa Multi-Room Music (MRM), Chromecast built-in, and Spotify Connect – as well as the build quality/design for me. There’s just something about the leather-like wrapping and the Quadrex grille with the sort of retro-modern fabric vibe, not to mention the cast-aluminum handle and accents throughout, that really makes them pop as pieces of functional decor.
