Update: Switch 2 is now available for purchase at Walmart for Walmart+ members:
Just when it looked like the Prime Day festivities were going to take over for the week, Walmart is set to launch a competitor sale of its own that will kick off tonight with a bang – reports suggest Switch 2 and the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle will be back in-stock! Alongside thousands of price drops across the entire official Walmart site, folks are getting an another chance to secure a Switch 2 console.

Walmart – Nintendo Switch 2 launch
We had a strong run of restock events on Switch 2 after the official release week in early June – Walmart, Target, and Best Buy all had units up for grabs both online and in-store in the following weeks. But it looks like Walmart has another batch of next-generation Switch consoles set to go up for sale online starting later this evening.
This restock event will land at the exact same time that Walmart’s massive Prime Day competitor sale goes live for Walmart+ members – the “Walmart Deals” sale will begin at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET for its Walmart+ members and then go live for everyone at midnight ET on July 8 (tonight).
This might very well give us an indication of how tonight Switch 2 restock will run as well.
Reports suggest the Switch 2 and the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle will be live starting at that exact same time – July 7 at 7 p.m. ET – and that might very well mean that Walmart+ members will be getting first dibs again, just like they did during the last Walmart restock event.
We can’t say for sure at this point, but this very much appears to be the case.
Last go around, Walmart+ members had a 1-hour head start on the Switch 2 restock, but there was still units left for everyone else thereafter. The big question this time though is whether or not Walmart will make everyone else wait until midnight when the rest of its Prime Day sale goes up for grabs.
Previous to the late June restock Walmart specifically mentioned the Walmart+ start time and when it would go up for sale to everyone, but that does not appear to be the case this time around. Stay tuned to our social feeds for up to the minute restock notifications.
