Nintendo Switch 2 is available for purchase at Best Buy stores across the country today. After catching a quick restock at Walmart last night online, the next chance to score a console will be when the doors open at your local Best Buy. While you might want to go call ahead of time just in case, most of them open up at 10 a.m. and there’s no telling how many units will be available.
Switch 2 available for purchase at Best Buy today

If you have been following our coverage this week, you’ll already know Best Buy announced Switch 2 units will be available in-store for Bananza Day today. A title some folks are referring to as the best Switch game in years, Donkey Kong Bananza is also finally out in the wild today, so you might want to consider picking up a copy of that too while you’re in-store grabbing your console.

Best Buy previously stated that “all Best Buy stores will have limited quantities in stock on July 17.” However, at some point yesterday it literally removed the word “all” from the official messaging for today’s restock – it now reads “Best Buy stores will have limited quantities in stock on July 17.”
For the previous Best Buy in-store Switch 2 restock event, the retailer actually served up a store tool so you could check to see if your location was actually participating, but that tool isn’t around anymore, so you’ll either need to just take your chances and head over, or take your chances and wait, call ahead of time to check, and then swing by to pick one up.
At this point, we have seen a number of restock events, both previous to and after the system finally launched in June, and both in-store and online – there was even a chance to land one at Walmart online last night. It is starting to feel like everyone who really wanted one already got one, which is a great thing, and it might also mean there won’t be a ton of folks clamoring to Best Buy stores to pick one up today.
Donkey Kong Bananza is a groundbreaking adventure available only for Nintendo Switch 2. And if you haven’t gotten your hands on the new system yet, this is your chance!
As mentioned above, and as you likely already know by now, today is Donkey Kong Bananza launch day and you should be able to grab a copy in-store to bring home today to enjoy on your new console as well – thus far reviews on the game have been almost entirely stellar. Both the game and the new Bananza are still in-stock at Best Buy online, so chances are they will both be waiting for you in-store as well – they are also available for purchase at Amazon right now as well:
- Donkey Kong Bananza physical $69
- Donkey Kong Bananza digital (play the minute it releases) $70
- Donkey Kong Bananza amiibo $30
We got early access to Donkey Kong Bananza, the brand new Switch 2 exclusive launching July 17th — and after over 2 hours of gameplay, here’s everything you need to know! From the all-new open-world style to the unique terrain mechanics, smashing gameplay, and the introduction of Pauline as a playable companion — this game feels like a true next-gen Donkey Kong experience.
