For folks look to refresh their 3-in-1 15W MagSafe stand, or perhaps jump in for the first time after landing an Apple Watch during Prime Day, there are some notable deals up for grabs right now. Regularly $110 these days at Amazon, it typically fetched $100 at most there for just about all of 2024. The question is, if all of these MagSafe charging stands are down at a relatively similar price, which one should you get?
I have personally used all three of these, and my choice is the Satechi 3-in-1 model or something from Nomad. But you’re going to be paying a whole lot more than $75 for any of those.
The other thing you’ll want to know right off the bat here is that all three of the models we are focused on right now with the deals – the Twelve South, the Belkin, and this Anker model – deliver the same specs. That includes a 15W MagSafe charging pad for iPhone, and magnetic charger for your Apple Watch, and an additional third Qi wireless pad on the base for your AirPods or a second handset.
Okay, so how do you choose? Aside from the fact that the Anker model is $5 less – that’s likely not enough of a differentiating factor for most folks anyway – for me, it’s all about the look and the build quality. I would say the Belkin variant and the Twelve South model are slightly better quality in terms of construction materials, but Belkin’s is barely better than the Anker. The Twelve South model feels and looks more premium to my eyes with the vegan leather wrap, but you won’t get the exposed metal vibe there.
The only other piece of advice I can add from personal experience that really matters here is that the Twelve South model has worked flawlessly for me for years. I have no reason to believe the other two won’t, but I haven’t put them through the paces with daily everyday use the way I have with the HiRise 3.
