I am looking to implement 2 factor authentication but with the requirement that it is only needed when I need to RDP into a machine. So if I sit at my desk, 2FA isn’t needed but if I want to RDP from home, I would need 2FA. I would also like the ability to use either hardware or software token so that I can RDP from my phone without needing a USB device to get my code. This is also with using an RD gateway.
I’ve made my searches and so far I can only find two companies that support this which are DuoSecurity and Swivel Secure. Anyone else know of other companies that would support this? Everyone knows RSA Securid but from my research, they would require the token to be used for local logins too.
2 Spice ups
There was another thread on here recently about the risks of exposing RDP to the Internet and the benefits of using a VPN with 2FA.

Good on you for being proactive and looking for a solution before there is a problem.
