I’ve installed 3.5 beta and my scheduled scan this morning was still running when i got in. I stopped it and restarted it @ 1 this afternoon. It has been running now for an hour. This is clearly not right. what could be the matter. It is still on 5%

Hi Janine,

just this morning Ive done another manual network scan (not scheduled). Its running fine, like in the 3.2 version before.

Have you tried to make a manual network scan, as well?

Was your “restarted it @ 1 this afternoon” manually or scheduled?

This might be an issue with your installation. Maybe you can try another installation of version 3.5 beta on another machine?

brgds, Dirk

The scan i did @ 1 was manually done. It worked fine yesterday after i did the install though. But i will reinstall and then try again.

My suspicion is that there is corruption in your data file. Look on you scan log and see if you can tell which machine or machines that it is locking up on. Delete them (backup first if you wish) and rescan.

Let us know the solution when you find it.

I did the reinstallation now i’m getting

“spiceworks-finder.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”

Spice works was working just 100’s when i was on 3.2. Since yesterday all is not well.

help please

Hi Janine,

have you installed the 3.5 beta over the 3.2 productive installation? That might be the reason. If so, please uninstall 3.5 again and reinstall 3.2 on the machine that was working with 3.2 before. (Do a DB backup before)

3.5 beta should be on another machine - it is not considered to be stable and 100% working fine. It`s a beta…

Could you post some logs here for review? (Take care that no confidential data is enclosed)

If 3.2 is still running like before - just go on using it until the official 3.5 comes to us.

Beta testing is sometimes frustrating

brgds, Dirk

Janine,

We would like to see your log files. Please run the spiceworks_package.exe and it will create a zip file. I will send you a pm on where to upload the file.

Thanks,

Connie
