I am looking at potentially getting 360 degree cameras used singularly or 2 daisy-chained together for larger rooms. We plan on potential replacing our current huddly IQ and Aver cam520 cameras in the rooms. Also have one or two to use mobile/offsite with a laptop.

Currently I am looking at the owl labs meeting owl 3/4+ and Logitech sight ones. Can anyone recommend either of these or potentially others?

We mainly use Teams and would be using them with our Creston Teams room systems (Flex and Flex advance).

Thanks in advance

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

At a previous role we had an Owl in a meeting space, the room was about 10x10 meters and we regularly rearranged the tables for various purposes. Usually we had a horseshoe arrangement so everyone could see each other, and the Owl was on a small rolling cart in the middle. This particular model connected to the meeting organizer’s laptop via USB, and was 100% seamless with Teams. I don’t know the exact model, and that was a few years ago.

{"@type":"Person
AdmiralKirk
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/AdmiralKirk"}},{"@type":"Answer

We had a Meeting Owl 2, which was having some issue where it would randomly reboot. We contacted their support and they worked with us and got us a free replacement even though we were outside of our warranty window since they felt the issue was software related on their end. So, on customer service, they get an A!

They replaced it with a Meeting Owl 3. It has been pretty decent, but we do have some audio issues. It seems like it is related to noise cancellation. Typically, the audio will drop way down and come back up. I believe someone is likely making a thud sound (like putting their phone on the table too hard) which causes the mic to tamp down a little too hard on all sound. People like how the owl switches to who is talking, but if you have a screen located at the front of the room, it feels a little awkward to talk to your Owl that is in middle of the table verses looking at the screen and talking toward the screen. On the Owl 3, I don’t particularly care for the camera’s image quality, but that is me being a bit of a video quality snob there. For a typical business meeting, it is fine.

I do see the 4 has 4K video, so I believe that would help out on my video quality snobbishness… but I don’t know if that justifies the extra $950. That said, if Owl were to decide to drop support for 3 in a couple years, I would be aggravated that I hadn’t chosen the 4.
