Application not showing the availability of the latest update:

After updating to this version, facing an issue when clearing the alert under inventory, the screen does not refresh automatically. On Manual refresh, the cleared alerts do not show.

Anyone else facing the same issue?

I’ve noticed that the application no longer picks up new releases. I subscribed to “Release Notes - Desktop Apps” so I get an email when an update is released.

@Adish - Spiceworks “phones home” once a day, so sometime it can take up to 24 hours before the app knows about the updated version.

When you clear the alert on the inventory, would you check to see if there are any javascript error in the browser console?

I’m not sure where feature requests go but it would be nice/convenient to have access to the help desk responses when creating a ticket as an admin, especially now that the plugin has been integrated into the base product.

If we already use Help Desk Responses do we need to remove the plugin? Is the configuration staying in the Apps area? I didn’t notice any changes to the plugin and I was running an out-of-date version. For some reason, the system didn’t tell me about the 2.103 update…

Hi HAPCAP, you shouldn’t have to remove the plugin if you already have it. The configuration is staying in the Apps areas for plugins and apps. If you over over the “Help Desk Response” there will be a “Configure” link that you can click to modify the responses.


As for not getting the notification for the update…that might be a bug. Reach out to support on that one. They may already know about it, if not they can get a bug in our system for it

Cool. I use the plugin all the time and just wanted to make sure I didn’t need to change any procedures. Will the plugin still get updates independent of SW? Or will it be updated with new SW releases?

Plugins and apps will still be updated independently of SW…all that lives in the App Center now for that exact reason :slight_smile:

@Bill C: Noticed that certain alerts do result in refresh of the list. Alerts like cloud services (google apps, aws, etc.) result in refresh of screen where as alerts related to software installed on desktop/laptop do not result in refresh of the list. Will get back to you on the javascript error.

Domain manual rescan issue is persisting for me in this version also.

After update, TABLES are not visible on helpdesk form, before publishing there is table, after it dissapear :frowning:

Hi Marcin7920, looks like that’s a plugin that’s out of date, as we don’t natively support tables in the comments. Check out the plugin to see if there is an update in Settings > Manage Apps. You may need to reach out to the developer of that plugin to see if they will update for you.
