Hi All,

I am currently trying to get accurate reports on al our systems that have licenced software installed.

For example: MS Office 2003 Professional/Standard

Yet when I run a report to tell me al the PC’s that have MS Office 2003 Professional installed, it tells me of PC’s that used to have MS Office 2003 Pro, when these PC’s now have MS Office 2007 Pro installed

Is there a way I can make it so Spiceworks tells me just what is acutally installed on the system, and not what used to be there?

Microsoft is very bad about actually cleaning up after an uninstall. If you look at the false positives you will see a blank install date. The best way I have found is to run SQL reports with a Not NULL WHERE Clause in Install Date.

With regards to MS Office 2003 giving me faulse information.

If the computer has been upgraded to Office 2007 delete the following registry and perform rescan

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0

This will now show the computer with just Office 2007 on
