Is there a way that a Windows 7 or 10 computer can be added as a server for monitoring and not as a device. Also as a side note is there a way to do this with OSX as well.

You can change the device group each device is in. Change that group to the Server list, and build your report to report on the Server group, which will include each of those devices.

To do that, from the Device Page, Hit edit, then at the bottom you will see “Groups”, and also “Add to groups” drop-box.
Too vague. Need more info. used to monitor what exactly?
Network Monitor (separate from Spiceworks) lets you add any system- I just added my desktop to Network Monitor, and other than calling it a “Server”, there wasn’t anything stopping me.
If you just want to make sure the machine is online, you could add it as an Online Device.
There doesn’t appear to be a way to add Mac OS X machines.
If you just want to use Spiceworks, you can always set the category on your device to be a server- Spiceworks won’t stop you.
Hope that helps!

monitoring not as a device - I’m confused.
What is your goal here and which product
im not seeing that option but that is what i want to do i want to move it from the device list to the server list so when im in dashboard and it shows the groups ( servers, Devices, and Online watchlist) i want to see the computer in the server group and not with the switches and printers
Main goal is to have a none server show in the server watchlist in the Dashboard right now it shows up under Network Watchlist so i need to move it to the Server watchlist
Go to the page of the device that you want to monitor. At the bottom right, click Edit, then on the bottom you will see add to groups. Hit add to groups and pick servers. It will now be in the server group
all i have at the bottom right is the feedly mini toolbox

Sean - In Network Monitor, the networking devices will be moved automatically to the Networking Watchlist and your Windows machine should be moved to the Server Watchlist. When you added this Windows 7/10 devices, are you saying it’s only showing up in the Networking Watchlist? If so, does it show any data for it?
