Evening all,

I’m looking for advice from an ex-apprentice such as what would be the best options upon finishing my apprenticeship?

I’m UK based, I’ve finished my Level 3 apprenticeship and I’m close to finishing my Level 4. I’ve sat and passed my CompTIA N+ and next month I’ll be doing the same for the Server+ exam.

Ideally, I’d like to learn more about networking so I think studying the CCNA would be a good start and then hopefully sitting that exam within 6 months of starting my learning on that.

Thoughts?

You can’t go wrong with Cisco and Microsoft Certifications.

Cisco gives a very good basis for networking, much above your N+ (in my opinion).

My apprentice has just finished his level 3 and is starting his level 4 this term and is including his N+, S+ and L+. We are an HPE network so no need for cisco so it would be a waste him doing that however I have done it in the past and it does make networking make a lot of sense as all the theoretical elements you have done in the past are taught with a much higher practical emphasis.

Beyond that, all the Microsoft MTA videos are available on the virtual academy so would be a good progression for you from the Server+
