I’m assuming you scan the right subnets (if any) ? Do the devices show up as “unknown” or are they just invisible ? Can you PING to one of the “undetected” devices from your Spiceworks server ?

Can you be more specific, what devices are failing and are the devices Windows/domain machines?

I have around 230 windows Laptops and desktops on LAN and they are on work group (not domain). These are currently in use and I am able to ping those. Spice works scanned the network and could find only 54 windows devices so far.
Out of 54 which 17 are giving windows login failures with WMI credentials and 4 with SSH login failure.
But 230 devices it could capture only 54 and remaining 190 odd machines are not showing in the scan list.
Can you pls. help help ?
Thanks

Are all those computers on the same network ? (Do they use the same IP range)

Yes, we use 2 ip ranges 0 & 1
both are on same LAN. We tried scanning giving these ip ranges separately and together also…
But some are invisible, some are giving errors.
Best Regards

Maybe this could be a firewall issue ? (on the PC’s that are not scanning)
There is a script you can run from the machine that gives you problems. It is proposed in the problem solving steps when looking at scan errors. (it’s a link to the Spiceworks server)

Ok, with that many devices a domain would be preferred, it makes managing them so much easier for a start.
Pings need to be enabled on the devices, and their firewall profile needs to be private (and the same as Spiceworks server). File and printer sharing needs to be enabled on all devices running windows for WMI to see them.
