I have tried the Request for Quote because I thought it was a good way to help with my inventory. The first two did not receive a response. However, I already have a CDW rep, so I called him and he said that he had not received anything from me, and I never heard from CDW. I tried it again yesterday with the same result. Then, I edited the vendor and put in my reps email. I tried again this afternoon and he received it.

However, he responded the traditional manner with a CDW PDF, therefore, it defeated the purpose and I cannot find out how to complete the request form on my side. Therefore, it appears that the quote system is not of value to me. Rather, I will have to continue filling in the purchasing form manually.

Ideas?

Thanks.

Not all vendors support the app. I am sure that lots of them do, but I’m aware that many (most?) do not and some intentionally do not because it tends to generate a lot of “noise” and expense on their end.

CDW has stopped responding using the Spiceworks Purchasing feature.

If he got the notification of your request (and he obviously did, if he responded the old way) then the only problem is with his action.

Just tell him that you’ll only accept quotes via Spiceworks from now on, and he’ll soon start following process properly.

Hey Robert,

I’m reaching out to the CDW sales team to see how we can get this to work for you. Stay tuned.

Good Morning Robert,

I am Milca with CDW customer relations. We would be happy to look into this for you. Please kindly respond to my direct message so that we may obtain more details from you.

Thank You!

Thank you to those who responded to my post from CDW, including my rep! After talking about it, the systemis working fine for us now. Thanks again.

I need to ring my rep’s bell too… Same experience for me. I put his direct email into my vendor list in Spiceworks, but I get a PDF quote from him 24 hours later…

I have experienced the same items since we have been doing it a certain ways and their is benefits to using their portals we need some more flexibility from the spiceworks side to keep track of items that doesn’t include only rfq as a starting point.

I have asked for a product roadmap in another thread and some items that I was looking for as I have experienced the same as above with multiple established vendors.

When I submitted a quote I included CDW in my vendors list. It was a simple request looking to buy stock for a new printer we ordered. Upon receiving a response from CDW I was shocked at how rude they were.

It was a rude one line response that said “This is a little ridiculous…”

I’ve attached the response here, but this is out of line. We will never use CDW again, I can promise that.

Good Morning VailGeek,

I apologize for the inconvenience. I have reviewed your account and confirmed that a new quote was entered on 7/17/2014. Please confirm that you have received this quote and let me know if you need anything else.

Thank You,

Krystal
