Hello experts,

Pl note that I need an assist to see who prints out this document because I have some users who deny owning the document when it is spoiled. If there is something I can do centrally to manage this. Please assist.

There may be an embedded accounting system or job log that shows who printed the document, if not Paper Cut is your friend. Your description is a little vague, what sort of document?

{"@type":"Person
Repairatrooper
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/Repairatrooper"}},{"@type":"Answer

I don’t use Xerox but it doesn’t look to me like it stores the username that submitted the job. Using a printer server provides better logging than direct printing to the printer and the free PaperCut Print Logger can be used for basic tracking of printing through a print server if don’t need the full features of the paid edition.

I find it helpful that my printers store the local username that submitted the job in addition to the printer Department ID that was used when submitting the job, but enforcing the wanted setting through a print server is often better than trusting the client to provide the correct info.

If you have network firewall or NetFlow logs that log network traffic you could look for connections to the printer about the time of print job that correlate to when was printed, but if too small for a print server then I’m guessing that you don’t have those either.

{"@type":"Person
matthew-martin
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/matthew-martin"}}]}}
