Hi everyone, I’m urgently seeking a new role and would appreciate your support. I’m eager to bring my expertise, skills, and experience to a new challenge. All my experience can be seen on my profile. Im open to any positions I learn fast.
Linkedin is very ueselessat this time.

About me:
:briefcase: I’m looking for IT Technician roles.
:globe_showing_americas: I’m open to roles locally and internationally.
:star: I’ve previously worked in IT and software support. I also have experience with number porting.

I have no problem working remotely. I have been struggling to find a job for more than a year now.

Upfront, I do not have a job to offer you. Having said that, I also was looking for employment for 7 months, and not knowing anything about you or what/how your doing your search, I simply wanted to share what I found to be critical for searching was the tracker. I logged every job I applied to, and several details, including links to the posting, and emails, application methods: in 7 months I applied to 237 jobs, with 108 hard rejections (I am still getting rejections, so that number is low…)
The only thing I did not track on, that I wish I had, was the salary range for each job, but I digress.
The main purpose for the tracker was the 10-14 day follow up on the application: who to reach out to and check in with, *something. Log back into the site, and see what’s what, what’s new/what changed, show activity on my account for the companies application process.
Unfortunately I have been derailed and have to break this off early: plumber showed up to inform me they charge $200 an hour: we IT geeks are in the wrong business.

I’ve added the IT/Jobs category too.

Based on your previous topics, all similar and about work or remote work, you should now have ~7 years experience.

Your experience doesn’t appear on your profile, just your certs (CCNA Network+ A+), which presumably have now expired.

Without getting in to personal details, what happened with your previous posts, were they contracting, did you leave for better opportunities, personal reasons, location etc.

What types of duties did you do in these roles and do they align with what you want to do?

You say you wand technical roles, but in what category, your certifications learn on networking, but it’s not clear if this is where you want to be.

Any additional background of your skillsets may help.

I would also suggest, being active and helping on here, for 2 main reasons.

  1. it doesn’t go unnoticed, headhunters frequent here.
  2. you keep your skills up and give back.

What else can you tell us?

Hi Rod-IT
My certification has expired because of financial reasons, and I couldn’t renew it.
I left previous opportunities for better opportunities and remuneration. I work as a desktop support tech so everything with printer setup and troubleshooting, internet troubleshooting, email troubleshooting, cloud backups, and reloading operating systems. I also worked as software support on biometrics, access control, and clocking devices. I work in the voice industry and did some international number porting. Before joining the telecoms industry in 2018, I worked in security call centres and construction equipment hiring companies. At this point I don’t care which part of IT I work in I have a 5-year-old son I have to provide for and im in urgent need of a job.

And this is fine, I was just stating they’ve probably expired, nothing more.

And again, I’m not making any judgements - we all need work, I’m just looking for what type of work you want to be in, you’ve had similar topics every 3 or so years and it’s hard to see what area you want to be in given these moves between posts.

I also understand the reason people move - for better opportunities, but currently you are unemployed, so I’m trying to understand if there is a reason for this and rather than saying any IT job will do, have a focus.

While you may be in dire straights, many companies want to see an interest, a focal area, from what you’ve posted above you’ve covered an array of jobs, but I don’t see the part where you specify your interests. Where would you like to be, in what section?

Desktop service jobs are more hands on than remote, so I’m trying to understand how i can assist you.

Hi there Rod
I want to move more towards software support. Id like to learn development one day.
Thank you for the help!

If I was in the position to be looking to interview you, I would be keen to see you actively pursing this, be that home study (free), YouTube videos or some kind of practise lab.

If your current background is technical, but you want to move to development, you’d be starting at ground zero, so the part about moving on to better yourself can’t apply here as you wouldn’t have a background in the area you want.

The best advice I can give, is to be engaged in your new area already, be actively doing something with it, learning code or creating webpages, whatever it is you’d like to be doing, just so you keep fresh and active.

Hi @danell123
If you want a quick hire, I would look into MSP’s, they typically hire quickly. I don’t like how they burn through people, but at least it’s a job until you have time to find what makes you happy.

Good luck in your search

This would be my recommendation, too, although it might not be WFH friendly, as they often dispatch to other offices. You can get hired pretty quick to get money rolling in, while you continue looking for a better position. MSP’s will turn and burn a lot of staff, so don’t let them beat you down.
