I’m looking around for a high performance, low latency remote desktop solution that’s optimal for things like playing videos, video editing, etc. Basically anything that handles screen draws the best in a video centric environment.

The topology would be a remote worker making a single connection to a high powered workstation at the main office. No multi-session desktops; just a one-to-one desktop session.

In my research the most promising so far is called Parsec.app . Wondering if anyone has used it and what you thought about it, or if there is another solution you’ve used that you have feedback on.

Thanks.

Parsec’s pretty legit. I’ve had friends remote onto my machines for some couch co-op. They didn’t seem to have any latency issues. I do have to say (also what ultimately made me switch to Comodo/Steam Remote Play) is that Parsec really likes to log you out.

I never devoted the time to figure out why and just thought Remote Play is just as convenient for our needs. Comodo Remote Control would definitely not be suitable for your use case.

Honestly, try the personal version of Parsec before looking at the paid version.

We’ve setup a trial account for Parsec and so far seems to work pretty well, as advertised. Still open to any other competitive suggestions.

I just use ZeroTier to connect my devices together. I was trying some steam remote play over the internet from my phone to play Elden Ring for a little bit with it.

How did it work for you? Any screen tears or artifacts you noticed? Extreme latency issues?
