Hi Everyone,
The discussion regarding Kaspersky Vs Eset got me thinking.
Would being a spiceworks advertising partner ever influence your decision when choosing a AV vendor?
For example:
Eset - partner?
Kaspersky not a current partner?
As always - thanks for your input and feedback.

Being a partner would get my attention and would likely get them added to my list of vendors to consider. This wouldn’t guarantee I would use them but would give them a fair shot to show off their capabilities that a non-partner I was not already familiar with wouldn’t get.

really i could care less about the advertising, i focus on the reviews i hear from other admins in similar situations as me. that said, the ad does expose a new software/technology to me, if it looks interesting i look into it. my budget is basically $0 so i rarely buy anything, and take a lot of time on the decision when i do.

Spiceworks partners will always get my attention first but when im about to buy products like AV ad’s dont have much of a inpact
ESET happens to be our solution for AV so the case is sold on our end. However regarding new vendors/services - given the benefits spiceworks has presented to my job, SW partners will most definetly be taken into consideration for related projects that are coming down the pipeline. I also know that the community would not stand for partners of spiceworks that did not stand up to what was advertised.
