Hi All,
We use UniTrends for our backups. We’ve been getting retention critical alerts, for above maximum retention limit for 190 days for our delete and 180 for holding. Which Unitrends support told us to do to fix alerts. We are still seeing this error occur. Is there something we are missing,that is causing those backups to not purge?
I’ve also contacted them today for further support and this is what there suggestion is for the fix. I’ve attached a file with there response.

I am not real strong in this area but what jumped out at me was having a MAX at 180 and a HOLD at 180. Those are conflicting settings. MAX would have to be greater than HOLD I would think. Also like they said there is no MIN set.

Thanks for using Unitrends! As John and your support engineer mentioned, your max setting should be greater than your hold setting. If you go with your engineer’s suggestion of setting your hold to 180 and your max to 190, as well as defining a minimum, you should see these warnings resolve themselves. Please let me know what questions you may have.
