When Azure AD Sync is running, it copies all attributes from on-premises to 365/Azure. This means you can’t make a change to the account in 365 as the on-premises version will overwrite it (plus, 365 simply doesn’t let you).

I’d love to hear if there’s now a solution for this. It seems like such an obvious requirement - a totally separate account within 365, managed in 365… but with the password syncing from on-site. Basically, we just want LDAP.

{"@type":"Person
mooney
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/mooney"}},{"@type":"Answer

@ChadDubya helped me fix this in a round about way. Here is a link on how to install the Azure AD sync. It is very straight forward.
What do you mean by default connectors?
It will pull all the information within the AD account. It also pulls disabled accounts and has them listed as Blocked.
