We’ve installed BE 2014 and so far all is going well. We moved from BE 2010 R3.

Sure have, on first glance doesn’t look/work that differently to 2012 but I haven’t done a lot of poking around as yet. Did have a few issues on installation due to licensing changes but got them sorted, the Symantec guys here are very helpful

Thanks for the mention Benjamin439. Happy to help anyone with any questions or issues!

I’ve ran through the trial version of BE2014 and its better, but it still doesn’t come close to Veeam or Unitrends. Everything just seems kind of slow. It’s like putting lipstick on a pig.

Hi @lancehietpas
Slow, how? Can you elaborate and give some comparisons - same hardware/storage, etc?
Same hardware and storage. There seems to be a lag in the interface and it seems to take awhile to kick on a backup.
The install went fine and I’m not running into any errors while trying to run backups like I used to when I was a customer.
Thanks for the additional details, so it is the interaction with the interface, interesting.
Is it more when you are selecting different options or scanning servers for backup selections?
Can you give me a click A then B, then C (lag here) to get to D scenario so we can investigate why you may be experiencing that?
In regards to “kicking on a backup” - so is this from the time you select to run to it starting to actually process data / or the overall time to backup? - of course depending on your backup options this could have a different response rate - would need more information to try to understand where you see a lag in the backup portion.
I’m glad to hear that you had no issues with install or backups. Sorry to hear that you are not a customer - that won’t stop me from trying to assist you since you commented on the “issues” you are seeing.
