Hiya!

I’m looking for a software solution to backup the data on our NAS device. I’m not looking for a how to backup to a NAS device. We have over 550GB of data on our NAS now. I’m looking for a solution to back that data up. It can be usb external drive if it has to be. I know that probably is not the best solution but at least it’s something.

Any Ideas?

Thanks!

Mark

{"@type":"Person
{"@type":"Answer
Flu While CloudBerry doesn’t have a specific product for NAS backup, we do have CloudBerry Backup which can back up files on a NAS from a workstation/server. You install CloudBerry Backup on the workstation/server and then setup a backup plan to backup the NAS (through mapped drive or iSCSI connection) to a destination of your choice. You can backup locally to another hard drive or you can backup to a cloud storage service (or both).

CloudBerry Backup used to have direct support for some NAS devices but we dropped it because of the number of vendors and how often they modify their software.

More information on CloudBerry Backup can be found here: MSP360 Backup Products For MSPs and Businesses of All Sizes

@mark3012

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer
Hiya!

I’m looking for a software solution to backup the data on our NAS device. Some NAS vendors have built-in tools for backing up, and some work really well with external USB drives as backup targets. Whatever you do, make sure to follow the 3-2-1 rule:

Keep 3 copies of your data, 2 locally but on different mediums, and 1 offsite in case of disaster.

{"@type":"Person
jared-seagate
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/jared-seagate"}},{"@type":"Answer
NAS replication? Or if doesn’t tickle your fancy you could always use Vice Versa to monitor all changes and simply do a contribute backup to another data cache.
