You have idiots. but that’s not uncommon, lots of users are like that :frowning:

6 Spice ups

You have the regular, everyday ones. They aren’t anything special even though they like to think so :frowning:

2 Spice ups

Ergo, regular, everyday idiot users!

the only way to get rid of idiot users is to be a bigger idiot. Set all passwords to a blank password, most of them can remember that after about a year or so… :-/

nothing to say (headbang)(headbang)(headbang)(headbang)(headbang)(headbang)(headbang)(headbang)(headbang)(headbang)
sometimes they will ask why do we need to use this password?
i explain them not twice, thrice and so on…
its for ur own safe.
and for ur sake also.
we have a policy 6 mos old password should be change.
they always hoping that ur going to memorize their password
hahaha rofl

Sorry you’re having such a hard time. It sucks when your bosses expect you to do the work of 20 people. All I can suggest, if you have control of what passwords can be changed to, only alter one character, or make it something similar. Maybe make it the answer to a riddle and have that riddle on a post-it note on your desk? This way when they ask you, merely point to it with silent rage.

Always liked to set up a password reset workstation. Have the users reset the password themselves based on appropriate challenge questions.

Just remember…they aren’t forgetful users, they’re job security…

During a recent password audit, it was found that a blonde was using the following password:

“MickeyMinniePlutoHueyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofySacramento”

When asked why such a long password, she said she was told that it had to be at least 8 characters long and include at least one capital.

Set their passwords to “1D10T$”

You can make a How to or IT Article in your user portal to show them how.

I temporarily set a users password to 123456 and found it quite hard to keep a straight face while they wrote it down.

Another user, our electrician, I set his password to electric, which he then wrote on the keyboard for everyone to see, so he wouldn’t forget it.

Give them passphrases rather than passwords.

Example.

‘1 Big Dog’

‘I Like 2 Dance’

‘Earning $1000’

etc…

oh is that possibel?
time to go home woah thanks there no user________ user around

no one will come to ask her/his paasswords

So why all the user is so idiot,i dont understand if they really dont know or pretending?

Most of them aren’t pretending. It’s just not important enough for them to remember. Their job is to do X, and this “password thing” is just getting in the way of doing their job.

WOW…now that I can see my keyboard through all the tears! I was slightly confused as to how this password came together, until I read the answer. Thank you for the laugh!

I usually teach conjunction +salt method. It produces pretty strong passwords that are fairly easy to remember.

Just an example

Favorite sports team: Manchester United = MaUned

Salt = user initials + last 2 digits of car year using special charactors

User: Calvin Kline + Car: 2005 = CK)%

End result CMaKUn)ed%

Dumb it down or beef it up as needed.
