Beer for the beach

I’m heading off to Topsail Beach, NC tomorrow for a week of relaxation and searching for fossilized shark teeth. There will be beer, of course. Duck Rabbit milk stouts are my favorite (brewed in NC!). It’s not too late for me to incorporate some other selections!

Puts on health and safety cap

Don’t go near the sea if you have had a beer or two

What you want to do is get bevvied up, take one of your empty bottles into the sea and fight a shark (after a few beers you should be well up for this) use the aforementioned beer bottle to crack the shark over the head and then proceed to rip its teeth right out of it’s mouth. Return to the shore to a heroes welcome.

I am very envious! I spent weekends on that beach, consuming alcohol and playing football, in my youth!

Yeah, I tend to prefer the shade on the deck instead of hunkering down in the sand.

Kona is always a good choice for beach beer. My favs - Big Wave Golden Ale, Pipeline Porter and Koko Nut Brown Ale.

Lovely. I vacationed in Topsail a few years ago. Get some fudge! And watch out for the sea turtles. They lay their eggs on the beach there. We just missed a hatching by a couple of days. They also have great shells and seaglass.

I’m a big fan of fruit beers in the summer, and I would give a +1 for cans. The beer doesn’t get any oxidation, and gets cold in a cooler good and fast. I don’t know of any beers there in particular, so I can’t really give you any recommendations

Citradelic from New Belgium looked very interesting, and the juicy watermelon is good.

Had one of these at the movie theater while watching Mayweather vs McGregor. Very smooth! Picked up a 4 pack the next day.
