I’m not gonna go into extreme detail, but I have officially proven that it’s a Monday and, even at 11 AM, I’m still not awake. =P

We recently needed to upgrade the laptop for one of our engineers to handle some newer software. We bought him some upgraded RAM, moving his laptop from 4GB to 16GB. Unfortunately, the graphics card isn’t able to handle the software, so we ended up just getting him a brand new laptop.

Now that this engineer has his new laptop, I’m setting up his previous laptop (don’t want to call it “old” since it’s anything but) so that it can go to someone in the maintenance department who’s still running on Windows XP.

Sadly, the software/utilities he needs are not 64-bit compatible, so I’ve had to curse this poor machine by putting 32-bit Windows 7 on it. I’m sitting here almost tearing up because I’m wasting a lot of memory sitting in this laptop … not remembering until 5 minutes before I type this thread that, not more than 5 feet away sitting in a drawer marked “laptop hardware,” I still have the 4 gigs we originally took out of the damn thing.

Yeah … it’s Monday (and, apparently, National Drink Beer Day … couldn’t have come on a better day, and I don’t even drink =P ).

Unfortunately, both my work laptop (4GB) and personal laptop (8GB) are already maxed out on RAM.
I will, however, be getting a newer laptop [hopefully] soon, and you better believe I’m putting these 16 gigs to use. =P
