I had to share this. There is a virtual 5K called The Great American Bacon Race.
I did it over the weekend. It ships with Bacon Jerky, a shirt, nose and medal.
This was fun! Who’s jelly? @CharlesHTN

:bacon: Very nice!

Of running 5k? Not me.

Unless it’s playing with the dog, I don’t really do this “running” thing :joy:

I definitely couldn’t do it with something covering my nose the whole time!

I did not run with the nose. Added after.

I was thinking I might could do 5k inches, but the math says that’s almost 420 feet. That’s more than a football field! Too much for this old man! :joy: Maybe 5k mm? That’s 16.4 feet. With some training, I might could do that! Yeah, I’ll run 16.4 feet for BaCoN! If I set up a camera, I could probably submit the video to AFV! :running_man: :sw_spicerex: :bacon: :bacon: :bacon:

How does a virtual 5k work?

5 Spice ups

They send you the goods and then you just go run anywhere, outside, treadmill doesn’t matter just do 3.11 miles.

6 Spice ups

Lol so you get the gear and can sit and watch football all weekend?

3 Spice ups

You can do the 5K anytime and anywhere.

Oh I tease, I gave up my running shoes after years in the Army. 10 m run Monday, 4-8 Tues/Thurs, 2-4 m run Wed, Fri 20m plus and sprinkle in some 20k Rucks with around 100lbs on your back.

I remember those days in the Army. I did 9 years.

14 myself. Ahh the good old days of the Airborne life.

For me, Chairborne! We still did PT at 6 am every morning rain or shine. Good times.

Cool paraphernalia, I cross country skied just shy of 10K Saturday but had to buy the ski hat

I did cross country and long-distance in high school, but did a different kind when in the Marines. Instead of running shoes, we generally used our jungle combat boots and a 50lbs backpack.

These days, I am lucky to get in 5,000 steps in… although I’ve been doing a good job of them from about T-14 from SpiceWorld and keeping it up since then, doing about 7K a day. Trying to get back up to 10K.

In basic training, I got stress fractures in both feet from the ruck marches.

When I work from home, I am lucky to get 3k a day. Well Airborne school/Basic was running a lot in the Army issued boots, not the comfort of the Jungle’s.

4 Spice ups

Yeah, we didn’t get jungles until we were out of basic… that is probably what I wore most of the time from that point forward. So much more comfortable!

5 Spice ups

You ain’t lying if one pair of Jungles got messed up a bit, then that is what I jumped with.

4 Spice ups

Never got Jungles. I don’t miss shining those black boots though.

LOL, I brought mine to the boot guy. And sorry for changing this into a military thread.
