Daniel Craig is retiring as the super spy known as 007. As the foremost experts on tech and gadgets, I think we (Spiceheads) should weigh in on the replacement. @Suzanne-Spiceworks or @Sean-Spiceworks I might need a little help setting up the results based poll on this topic /discussion (and many thanks ahead of time)

I’ll start this off with my own pick: Tom Ellis from Lucifer:

I’m going to plug one other, since Mr. Ellis is thought to be a jolly old feller:
How about James McAvoy?

No problem. When you have your candidates locked in, let me know and I can help you make it into a poll.

(The option is on the menu under the little gear icon if you want to try it.)

I love Tom Ellis but he’s too comedic for the role. My wife and I LOVED Lucifer and were ecstatic when Netflix picked it up after Fox’s cancellation. Hell I loved him doing the voice of Godcat in Exploding Kittens.

But given those 2 shows alone I can’t take him seriously enough for the role of James Bond.

My personal choice and favorite rumored actor? Idris Elba.

In another post I suggested Mr. Bean.
I still would like to see Henry Cavill in this role.

But we have the Johnny English series! Those were great actually.

My suggest is Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Since I saw him in Bullet Train I was sold.

There seems to be a lack of 30-something British actors that fit the bill at the moment - all the popular ones are in their 40s or 50s.

Maybe if Kraven didn’t flop.

Yeah, but that isn’t a reflection of is acting. Nosferatu came out around the same time and he killed it in that.

I haven’t seen either, so I have no idea what I am talking about.

James Bond has been around since 1953. A 40yr old Bond would be very well preserved.

Richard Hammond.

I think in the interest of supporting the Commonwealth, the next James Bond should be Canadian or Australian. How about Jim Carrey?

Idris would have been great, but at 53 this year he is too old. Moore was 57 when his last Bond was released, so with the production schedule between the films, Idris may get one before he would be older than Moore on his next.
Tom Ellis, too comedic. Cavill already pulled off a Bond-esque role in ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E’ and did a rather good job at it, but yet again he is now in early 40’s. ATJ would be a good pick, yes Kraven may be a stumbling block but the Bond franchise is completely different to Marvel/Sony. Richard Madden has been mentioned, but is far too wooden to be a Bond. But as Bond is of Scottish/Swiss heritage i would opt for another scottish actor to pick up the role, Jack Lowden? We already had a blond Bond with Craig, so hair colour shouldn’t be an issue. My pick would be Taron Egerton, yes it is similar to Kingsman but this has proved he can play the role.

This may work out

David Tennant? Since Dr. Who he has played a lot killers so he does have the range, of course he also has a TARDIS full of fandom baggage

I am a +1000000 on Tom Ellis. He would be bloody brilliant!

I like Idris Alba but I fear he’s running into the same issue as Daniel Craig (aka, they’ve had almost as many birthdays as me).

Henry Cavill would be great; when he was in Mission Impossible, he was awesome.

Ummm, what about Jensen Ackles?

And while I’m spamming this topic, I have to plug this Epic Rap Battle (sorry, not sorry):

Navin Chowdhry, Ncuti Gatwa, Idris Elba, Dev Patel, or Chiwetel Ejiofor.

I see a gear icon when I respond to you, but otherwise not. Might be a government restriction? If I get a chance (and I remember), I will try later from home, but I think we have enough responses for a poll now - Ellis, McAvoy, Cavill, Elba, Taylor-Johnson, Hammond, Carrey, Egerton, Tennant, Ackles, and Chowdhry
