Hello,

i have finally made the step to 7.2 and it runs pretty good! Finally a version i could go to from my 6.2 that seems to work well. The new features are really cool!

One thing is there that i might need some help with or ideas. I have around 80 IGEL Thin Clients with the following message:

“We need some help identifying this device.”

This device is a: …

First of i would love to see “Thin Client” in the selection, as it is a very popular device type. But most of the Thin Clients you can buy are pretty much locked down and there is no service open on them, except maybe management ports.

I dont really feel like going through all 80 Devices and set them to other, manage myself and add model, devicetype, manufacturer, etc…

Anyone got an idea how to do this?

3 Spice ups

ok for the thin client local management you would use the UMS provided by IGEL

As for the bulk update in SpiceWorks I have had issues with this myself and I would be curious to see what SpiceWorks has to say.

Thanks Gregory,

i have enables SSH and Remote Access on my IGEL TCs with the UMS but it will not pull anything. No RAM, no CPU, no nothing.

I bulk imporeted quiet a few devices in the past but i would love to get the basic info of my IGEL Devices automaticly. At least the stuff the UMS can pull automaticly, like the Serial Number and Software version.
