I use my own computers and devices for work. I brought in my own desktop and laptop, and I use my own iPad and cell phone. I did this voluntarily because I’m a Mac Snob. Also, my company tends to give ridiculously low equipment budgets and I didn’t want to use a potato.

My company, however, does issue computers and devices to all employees. The CEO, one of the execs, and myself are the only exceptions.
I’m curious to see how many other IT folk bring their own devices in comparison to users who bring their own.

Do you use your own computer at work?
  • My company has a strict no-BYOD policy, and I follow it
  • All employees bring their own devices, including me
  • I could, but I’d rather the company pay for my work computer
  • I work from home, all I can do is BYOD
  • My company bought my computer but I get to keep it if I leave
  • The company issued me a computer but I don’t use it because mine is better
  • My company allows BYOD, so I use my own
  • My company allows BYOD, but I still use a company computer
  • My company does not allow BYOD, but I still do it anyway (shhh, don’t tell)

I work mostly from home/remote, so it’s BYOD for me.

Of course, you can guess how I protect them
