Die Hard.... Christmas film?

So it’s that time of year again and an age old discussion has reared it’s ugly head once again. Is Die Hard a Christmas film? For me it’s a definite yes, here’s why: It’s set at Christmas It’s got a Christmas tree It’s got Christmas music It’s about family reconciliation at Christmas It’s basically Home Alone with terrorists and explosions… I seem to be fighting a losing battle in my home as to whether it’s a Christmas film or not, I need some backup! What do you think? poll

And the word “Christmas” appears 18 times in the script, which is more than the words “explode” (4), “die” (5),“hard” (11), “shoot” (12), “kill” (13) and “blood” (13).

Does it feel weird watching the movie outside of the Christmas season? If yes, then it is a Christmas movie.

I’ve never watched it at Christmas. But then, I’m not generally into violent movies this time of year. Then again, I just got “Serenity” from the library… I may have to go back and see if “Die Hard” is available. I voted for bacon…
