I watch about 20 holiday movies every Christmas. I want to settle this debate once and for all. You can also share the movies you like to watch below in the comments. Also check out @kelly-for-watchguard post: Is it just me or have you noticed all these security twists in holiday movies?! 🎄

Yes, and I will hear nothing of the opposite. John McClain might as well be up there with Santa, Rudolph, and Scrooge.

Back in 2017, 91% said yes. Hopefully the other 9% have now seen the error of their ways.

I’m so glad we can finally get to the bottom of this debate :joy:

@kelly-for-watchguard judging by the topics I see related to this one I doubt it!

I wanted to vote BaCoN, but it wasn’t a choice, so I voted Yes, as in “Yes, I want BaCoN!”

There is no debate. There is only wrong people.

Can we just delete the No’s?

I haven’t done a poll and added an option. Did I screw it up? haha

7 Spice ups

You can’t edit a poll when it has votes unfortunately. We’ll just have to vote again!

My apologies!

How is this still a question?

:white_check_mark: Takes place on Christmas Eve
:white_check_mark: Takes place at a Christmas party
:white_check_mark: Has Christmas music (see @ich-ni-san’s next post)
:white_check_mark: It’s about family
:white_check_mark: It’s about redemption and sacrifice

And the word “Christmas” appears 18 times in the script, which is more than the words “explode” (4), “die” (5),“hard” (11), “shoot” (12), “kill” (13) and “blood” (13).

I mean, how much more wholesome do you want it to be?

And has Christmas music.

Does it feel weird watching the movie outside of the Christmas season? If yes, then it is a Christmas movie.

9 Spice ups

It takes place at a Christmas party. Santa is referenced, HO-HO-HO. “It’s Christmas, Theo–it’s the time of miracles.” “Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except… the four assholes coming in the rear in standard two-by-two cover formation.” Christmas in Hollis by Run-DMC plays–for the first time in a movie, establishing the trope for dozens of future Christmas movies.

I’ve never watched it at Christmas. But then, I’m not generally into violent movies this time of year. Then again, I just got “Serenity” from the library… I may have to go back and see if “Die Hard” is available. I voted for bacon…
(I don’t think I’ve watched it in over 20 years, TBH)

Christmas Vacation=Christmas movie
Die Hard=Action movie that happens during Christmas.

I would think the answer lies in “IS” or “WAS” ??
