Hi. My Spiceworks account is tied to my old work email. I now have a new email and would like to move that sicework account the the new email

How Do I Change The Email Address For My Community Profile?

Have you found a new job or maybe your job is changing the email address format? You could create a new profile in the Community for that email address, but then you’d have to go all the way back down to Pimiento and lose your badges. Starting with 5.0, when you first access the Community with a new email address, you have the option of creating a new account, changing your Community account’s email address, or accessing your Community account with multiple email addresses.

  • Log in to Spiceworks with your new account and click a Community link. You will be given the chance to choose a display name. At the bottom of this window click the link to Connect to an existing account.
  • In the new window that pops up, enter the email address and password of your existing Community account.
  • Now you need to decide whether you want to continue accessing the Community with the old email address as well as the new one.
    • If so, select I don’t want to change the email on my community account. This will link both email addresses to the same Community account.
    • If not, select I want to change the email on my community account to…. This will (obviously) disassociate your Community profile from your old email address and only allow access from the new address.

Does this meen I need to install a new version? I meen, I am at a new company, we do not have spiceworks (yet… I am working on that).

I am pretty sure that all you have to do is logon or create a new account at community.spiceworks.com and you are good to go. Try it from home even. The community is separate from your server but uses the same login.

actually you used an email to log into the server but you should be able to use your current community login to gain access to the posts, etc. but you need to follow the directions to move or add a new email in order to preserve your points.
