I regularly receive calls from “Organizations just wanting to know what infrastructure you have and software…we are not trying to sell anything”

don’t forget to ensure that no one else accepts these calls and tells them anything then ?

I don’t answer the phone unless I know the number.

I just sent an email to the receptionist, get a name and company, what it is in regards to as im in a meeting…whatever. If i think its important ill call back so i am guessing that will be around >1%

Our phones do not have the ability if transferred, just comes up where it is transferred from. Revamping the phone system is a project id like to do but is low priority at the moment. Id like to increase our bandwidth, then get VOIP down the road.

I don’t do cold calls, there a waste of my time.

I am wondering how one of them got my direct dial number because I never give it out.

Got 2 yesterday, ignored the first one and for some unknown reason answered the second.

They always act surprised that i refuse to offer any information. The one yesterday got mad that i referred to his call as a cold call, he got all indignant.

“Can i get your email to send you my contact info?”, no of course not it is bad enough that you are cold calling me with this call.

I tell them, “I don’t give out details of my infrastructure for security reasons. Do you?”

The one that direct dialed me was asking to talk to the owner of the company. I kept asking what the call was regarding and they stated it was “important company information”. I kept trying to pry what the call was in reference to and they started getting pissed so they have been permanently added to the blocked callers list in the phone system.

Yes, i mean really here’s all the software we run, why don’t you see if you can find one that can be exploited. While your at it i can give you my outside IP address and a port you can use!

I just got a call yesterday and didn’t recognize the number or caller ID, so I let it go to voicemail.

The message they left was lacking in details. This was the entire message:

“Hi, this is Susan. Please call me back at 555-555-5555 click

No company info, no short message. I don’t know who “Susan” is.

If it’s important, I imagine they will try again another time. So far, they haven’t.

My boss has gone remote and now they call me. I’m just like, “Hmmm, I don’t have a say on vendors sorry. Bye” “But this or that…” “Yeah, still get a hold of my boss you are just wasting your time with me. Have a good day!”

Lol it works every time!!
