You would think after years and years of dealing with Comcast I would be used to or at least numb to their idiotic ways. We use them at work for our ISP and phone services and at least every other week I get a call from one of their telemarketers that we would be so much better off with their services instead of the DSL we currently have (which we don’t have - we are already Comcrap’s customer). Do they not run their call lists through their internal database before they waste time calling existing customers? Then today I receive a letter in the post for the same thing. It’s not like they don’t know we are a customer as I have to call them all the time to have issues corrected. Their service is CRAP but we don’t have a better option here so we are stuck with Comcrap for now.
Unfortunately I use them for my ISP at home as well and have the same issues - but - TDS has fiber in my neighborhood and I am switching as soon as I can find the time to leave these losers in the dust!
Anyone else have Comcrap? Love or hate them?

You see it’s been my belief for a long time that the internet and cable are the only things stopping Americans from storming the capitol building and putting politicians and the super rich’s head on pikes. If this keeps going and people stop having cable and cut off internet/get it from free wifi or what not, you’ll see that revolution that people have been talking about.

I have Comcast residential 50Mb at home and 50Mb fiber at work. I have to say that I disagree with your rant, I have never had any issues with them and consistently get higher speeds than what I pay for. I’m right down the street from you so to speak as our business is located in White Bluff and I live in Dickson.
Sorry for your pains though, I know what it’s like since we used to have AT&T Fiber here and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

I spiced you for “comcrap”. I honestly haven’t ever had any issues with their business version at work. But at home it’s a nightmare dealing with them.
We had Comcast for years at home. And for all the complaining that goes on all over the interwebs, I can say that we never one single problem with the service or the support when it was needed (rarely) and that includes us moving and transferring our service. We had cable and internet for the longest time and then added phone when they started the Triple Play deal.
The ONLY reason we dropped them was price. Money got a little tight, DISH was cheaper for the amount of TV that was getting watched and we didn’t really use the landline phone anymore. That said, I’d switch back to Comcast for their internet in a heartbeat.

We keep getting emails from Dell how we should move our backups to Dell Appasure. We’ve been Appasure customers since before Dell bought them…
At home the local cable company does the same thing to me. Mail every week for new customers even though I’m already a customer.
I assume they are all dumb. Marketing doesn’t query Accounting before wasting profits.

Wow - well it’s great to hear that not everyone is having issues with comcrap on one level or another. I could write a book on all the issues we have had, from service outages, billing issues, tech support issues etc. Our coverage (my entire neighborhood not just me) is out at LEAST 3 times per week. When my service is out I ask my neighbors and theirs is out too. My neighbor behind me dropped them a fee months ago for TDS Fiber and has not had a single issue. Actually she enjoys laughing at us when our service is out and hers isn’t
I plan to be with TDS before the year is out.
As far as functionality at work - the only real complaint I have is the phones. I have to call monthly to have voice-mail turned back on as their system randomly decides we don’t need voice-mail any longer (that is what the Comcrap tech tells me when I call). It only takes a 10 minute phone call but it’s irritating to have to do it every month.
I forgot to mention in my OP that we don’t have DSL - we already have Comcraps services. Why call us to switch to them when we are already their customer.

Why is this in the soapbox? This is not controversial, and everyone seems to be disagreeing in an appropriate manner.

I have no idea - I originally posted it at the WaterCooler. Quite often my WaterCooler posts get moved. Maybe a moderator doesn’t like me???

LOL I was about to copy and paste both moves - how funny. I feel controversial!
Ive got Comcast at home (never dealt with them in a business setting). If I need something out of the ordinary, it’s a hassle, but the mundane stuff is fairly easy. A bit over a year ago, I bought a SiliconDust HD HomeRun to pair with a newly built Media Center. I called Comcast to see about the procedure, as I needed to give them back their box, and issue me a CableCard. I couldnt just go to an office to swap this, they HAD to send out a tech, who would not let me even handle the card itself. He insisted that he should insert it into my new device. So I let him, and we fired the MC up. I only got the clear QAM channels, the ones you could get for free with an antenna and a digital tuner. He told me the others will come online in a few hours and left. After waiting an hour and not seeing any channels show up, I inspected the box myself, took the card out, inserted it the CORRECT WAY, and instantly my MC popped up a message “CableCard detected”. Within minutes, I was surfing my brains out.
Im not trying to actively disparage Comcast here. I am impressed with my Internet speeds (I pay for 50 down - 5 up, I routinely get 75 down, 12-15 up), and the the TV service is decent. The service is decent, sometimes the people are…questionable.

We have them at work and home, and we too get mail offers and calls trying to sell us what we already have. They are great to work with on an enterprise level (for us anyways with the reps in our area) but for the average user like me at home, we get the idiots from call centers.
Century Link just moved into my neighborhood and are running fiber, goosebumps.

I can say one thing good about them (aside from the bandwidth listed above) their call center people suck rotten apples but the local service center close to my home I never have issues there. Actually there is one lady there that I will let people pass me in line so I get her - she rocks!!!

Let’s be honest here, ALL comm companies are run by sociopaths. AT&T, Verizon, Cox, Charter, Comcast, Level3 you name it. All run by sociopaths. In Comcast’s case, I think that’s a requirement for employment. AT&T isn’t far behind.
