Hey guys,

Thanks in advance for your help!

I seem to recall, back in the mid-2000’s when I worked with a guy running a Computer Troubleshooters franchise, there being a site or two that small IT support companies could sign-up with that would provide customers with computer issues and take a cut. I recall if you were signed in and your status was set to available, that they’d contact you to help people who had called in for support. I seem to remember also being able to browse a list of computer repair requests from customers, in a forum-type of site, where one could pick jobs from the list to work on immediately. It was sort of a broker arrangement. It’s been several years since we used this service and I cannot remember what it was. I’m not sure if these places still exist today, and if so, which would be reputable.

The reason I ask is because I am considering starting up my IT services and repair business again and it would be nice to have something like this to fall back on as I attempt to grow the business (to fill in slow times, help guarantee some cash flow, etc.). Does anyone know of services that provide the same today? I know this is sort of a strange request, but if you have any ideas, or other suggestions, please let me know! Thanks again.

Was it Crossloop ?

I left them when they started loving money too much… they crippled their otherwise great software to get you to buy a licence.

Thanks for responding, Sylda…

That option seems to be remote access software only (unless I missed something). I was more thinking of a service that receives support requests and then farms those requests out to IT service providers. A site where an IT service provider can sign-up, and then if they are available, the service forwards support requests from customers needing support. First come first serve. I also mentioned a forum-looking area where where IT service providers could pick-up open service requests from the company that received them from customers. Know anything like that? It was a good way for my old partner to find business, mind you at a cheaper rate as the service would take a chunk for the referral, when things were slow, etc. It helped supplement his business as he was growing it. I wish I could remember the one we used before, but it’s been so long… Perhaps the market is no longer there for such a service. If you have any other ideas, please let me know. Thanks again.

P.S. Maybe this post should be in the IT jobs area. Maybe I posted it in the wrong section…

http://www.onforce.com/page/pro_how_we_work - does something similar to what you’re describing.
